Cheapest deal I've found so far for the Adventure combo, for the camera that came out last week. Digidirect selling for RRP on Ebay but use the code to save a chunk. The Insta360 X5 is still definitely a good competitor so research what one works best for you, also note the next GoPro 360 camera is coming out soon too.

I grabbed this after a lot of thinking and really hoping the lenses wont be a headache (mainly while away on holiday where its impractical to send for repair)

  • You could probably add $11 from same seller to save an additional $30 with the same code, if you find something that works

Big no with no replaceable lens. I have ruined several 360 cameras. Get the insta360 x5.

But props to OP for highlighting this.

    • definitely was the single thing that had me doubting this camera. my use case is on cycling trips sometimes overseas so non-replaceable lens is a huge factor…
I'm gonna roll the dice and hope I get lucky, and if I do damage it, hope its near the end of a trip!

the one you picked seems like a far better form factor for that purpose, but I would still get the insta360 personally.

      • Just get the dji warranty

  • Anyone know if there's any Mini Pro 4 fly more combo deals going? Best i can find is Mwave @ $1499 considering it was $1092 in June….

    • nah I havnt seen anything in a while either. The 5 Pro is supposedly out by end of month so might see some cheaper 4 pro's soon

Oh that's news to me, I'll hold off then, thanks for that!

  • I am thinking a action 5 pro. Anyone comments on that? Also consider insta360 for a coming Cains trip

love my A5P. thats kind of why I leaned to this, for the shared batteries

Have an Action 5 Pro that I got for a few trips and love it. Built like a tank, stabilization is great (as long as your frame rate is high enough), video quality is solid, and lots of accessories are available.

      • Would 60fps be fine? Don't need the 120fps it offers.
        Thanks

        • It's more to do with the shutter speed used whilst capturing, not the framerate of the footage itself. i.e. I set my shutter speed to 1/100-1/8000 in the advanced settings but my video framerate is 30fps. I find the 1/100 minimum is good to keep the stabilization working well whilst allowing enough light into the relatively small sensor. My early videos I filmed in Japan didn't use these settings and when I went indoors whilst walking, the shutter speed dropped quite low and I ended up with lots of stabilization artifacts. Does that make sense? Happy to explain a bit more if needed.

      • Yes, I think A5P is the way to go. Not only price is better but the Rugged build is really an advantage. Thanks for that. Now, looking for a used one or new one…. haha. Life, full of choices.

The action5p can be used as a wear-it-and-forget-it body camera. 360 camera is much less convenient because you need to hold a selfie stick or mount it to the top of your head to get the best result. It all depends on whether you focus on filming or a more immersive experience of your holiday.

      • Love wear and forget. Never miss anything and not in my way.

    • Action camera for fpv shots.

      360 for 3rd person shots.

Once you crop into a 360 shot you only get about a 1080-1440p video. I just use my 360 cam as a roll for the kids. Leave it shooting then upload the 360 on youtube and view with occulus glasses. It's like being at the moment again.

  • Wouldn’t you use a rugged case for this to protect the lense anyhow?

    • you can get lens protectors but they impact the image somewhat. i might look into some for more extreme situations

  • Surprised a new version is coming out soon, I hadn’t heard about it.

I want one of these as a dashcam of sorts for my bike when I ride into work.

But now I want to wait.

    • new version? Do you mean the GoPro Max 2 - because that's coming up, but otherwise, this Osmo360 was only released a few weeks ago, and the x5 was released ~April this year - so I'd be surprised if any of these 3 get an upgrade soon!

      • Oh, thanks. I completely misread OPs post.

  • Look at the software first. IMO the only game in town is the X5….. The software is amazing.

    • i dont mind a bit of tinkering and software can be improved over time at least
