    Check aliexpress 👍

      • It's not POE mate

        • Sorry, you are right.

          • @SetTheFaqUp: Yeah bought one last week :)

@teacherer: I have their 16 Ch one, which is a poe device. Problem is only 2 HDDs can be fitted as well there is a max allowable capacity to each disk.

This one takes upto 3 HDD and got some alarm connector. Seems like a more scalable option.

              • @SetTheFaqUp: Yeah i was keen to get to 48TB and have a poe switch anyway. 18TB in there currently.
My problem was getting their 8ch one originally and not realizing wifi cams taking a channel and dual cams taking 2 channels.
I think the other NVRs max out at about 12gb or 16gb from memory

              • @SetTheFaqUp: I believe both the hdd limit and the size limit can both be exceeded, unless something has changed km not aware of?

                • @parad0x: Haven't tried because their site/manual specific the max size for each HDD.

I won't downvote your comment, but let's say that POE doesn't matter to some because we already have managed POE switches, and the included HDD is usually too small to keep using anyway. So not quite "useless"

      • Is it useful to have a 36ch device available under $200, or a 36ch 1000w convection oven trapped inside the same enclosure as your storage and your Network Video Recorder (no mention of being a network power provider in there )

    • You just buy a PoE switch… An 8port cost me around $60 with enough power for cameras.

Edit: http://amazon.com.au/dp/B0CPLWFF3J also has 10% off two and 15% off 3 (which stack for 25% off) if you're buying TP Link cameras with it

https://www.amazon.com.au/TP-Link-TL-SG1016D-Gigabit-Prevent… $97 for 16 port, doesn't say PoE budget but the 8 port is apparently 110w

I have one of these, and it works pretty much as described (a good thing). I guess it should be considered one level up from a consumer level, so not recommended for people expecting a disks and PoE. I installed my own disks and have a PoE switch. The unit could also be rack mounted.

Also, I have all my cameras running through only one of the interfaces and did not spread them out across the four but most are not 4k or higher. It also works along side BlueIris.

I don't agree that the unit is useless but it would only suit specific group of people.

    With seller coupn
    Without seller coupon

    • How are you getting that price? Best I can get is 178.99 and that's after paying in USD with that coupon

      • Interesting, what price does it show on the product page mine shows $205.89.Also follow the store you'll get some coupons(us5 off 89) or ask in chat.I managed to get the price to $159(104 USD).

  • I guess I went down a rabbit hold that I have no clue about. :-)

Couldn't resist buying it last night off AliExpress. Came to US$ 116 after coupon, converted to AU$ 179 on my credit card. $30 cashback tracked on TopCashback. And ~10% came back in AliExress cashback. So about AUD 130 final price.

Question now: can it be used to live-monitor (also with app) without any HDD installed? Or temporarily just chuck in an old regular PC drive? I'll eventually get a WD purple (pro?), but waiting for a special on one of those.
