Apple air tag, single great for 40$. The airtag ripoffs are around 25$ and use Apple FindMy network but far from perfect

Yep - I didn't think the AirTag could be improved until I read the new one might have magSafe wireless charging - if so I'd buy that in a heartbeat

Yeah, they are pretty cheap. Its a Cr2032.
If you don't know where the battery is here is the hint: the battery is inside the tag.
I've attached an airtag to my airtag batteries so that I can find them.
They warn you well before they run out of battery
