I can't convince myself to pay that much. The price is crazy now.

    • Decent chocolate is cheaper per 100gb too hey

    • +3

Yeah unfortunately all chocolate prices are going up due to cacao shortages. Someone should hurry up and flood the market with lab-grown chocolate…

      • +11

And yet I have to discard the chocolate that my lab produces, using doggy bags.

      • +2

Eventually when the cacao shortage gets fixed, the chocolate prices will go down right?…right?

        • Remember potato chips were expensive cause of the shortage and now it's better but the price never went down..

  • If you like Cadburys top deck and many mouths to feed then this works out cheaper ($2.22/100gms). Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Top Deck Block 15 Pack, 15 x 180g. $60/-. Temporarily out of stock. Pay with credit card and you will only be charged when it ships.

      many mouths to feed

Me: I identify as a family of 6

      • +2

Might need to update your profile pic then….

      • If their recommended serving size is 25grams, and u identify as a family of 6, that means at $60 for 15 blocks, you are eating $3.33 worth of chocolate per serving (with the 15 packs lasting only 18 days provided you eat 1 serving a day - and we all know that isn't happening).

    too expensive 🫰

just beware there were reports of elevated levels of lead and cadmium, not sure if it its resolved, so do your own research

    • -1

Geez, does not sound good. Was there a re-call for that?

The commentor above is either deliberately misleading or never properly read about the issue. The issue of Lindt (among other chocolate companies) having issues with cadmium and lead levels beyond what is generally accepted under standards like those by the codex alimentarius, revolves around a report made a few years ago, that their higher cocoa % dark chocolate products (their 70/85% specifically) were found to have them in excess of maximum limits set out in Canada (1 had more cadmium the other had more lead).

To be clear, there is basically always a risk of exposure to lead/cadmium from dark chocolate just due to where its grown and how it's made, the issue is how much is acceptable (for cadmium you shouldn't have to worry since you likely aren't consuming enough to warrant a scare even if you consumed it regularly for years - provided it's been done in moderation. Lead is another issue all together as there's really no acceptable level of lead consumption, especially for kids, but what kid is eating dark chocolate with high cocoa%?).

Given that the report was from a few years ago, the issue of it exceeding California's limits will likely have already changed due to production of cocoa beans and other ingredients differing each year resulting in produce that contains varying levels of the two elements between each year(s).

Thanks. Appreciate the time and effort you put in to that thoughtful intelligent response.

    • cadmium

      Hmm cadmium… Cadbury…

  • +9

Geez these used to be $2 on special

  • +3

Remember when these were 2 bucks

    • …and not so long ago……

  • $42.50kg bargain!

    • Whole 180 pieces. Perfectly cut.
If you go for Australian made, the quality is better but prohibitively expensive
