Belong Mobile Bonus Data for 12 Months: 80GB/Month on $35/Month Plan, 200GB/M on $45/M Plan, 240GB/M on $55/M Plan @ Belong

Was looking for a Telstra wholesale provider for a Mobile SIM and this seemed far the best data focussed deal if using 80-200gb/month? Calls and texts included. No international calls or texts included. Includes rollover and data gifting. Month by month, no lock-in contract.

Website: “The fine print
Connect or upgrade to our $35, $45 or $55 mobile plan by 05 Oct 2025 to receive bonus data each month for 12 months (while you stay on this plan).
$35 plan = 40GB/month bonus data [80gb total]
$45 plan = 100GB/month bonus data [200gb total]
$55 plan = 80GB/month bonus data [240gb total]
You'll need to activate your plan before the offer ends.”

I already have a belong mobile cheap plan, but hoping I can put one of these 5G sims in a 4G router without Belong complaining - can’t see anything in the terms against it. There are cheaper belong “data” SIM plans but without the bonus data, and no rollover. Depends on your data needs: eg. $35/100gb “data” sim vs $35/80gb or $45/200gb “mobile” SIM on this deal.

Plus you can buy 100gb belong data on eBay for about $11.

Don’t forget to use referral code from a friend on Belong or via ozbargain referral link (disclosure: I have a referral code in the ozbargain list). Note you will need the Belong “Mobile” code.

  • I recall reading that some operators don't give full 5G speeds on their networks, is Belong one of them?

    • Yes

    • I'm not sure what full 5G speed is as i rarely use it but have had speeds close to 300 and consistently around 185 to 200 on the few times I've used it with Belong.

That is correct - I am with Belong, Anything under the 45/month plan is capped at 150mbps, and above those plans are 250mbps.

That said I've chosen them after Optus price jacks because of the following: Unused data is rolled over (im on the 25/month plan that is accessible after 1 month of service give 7gb a month - currently banked 80gb), any excess data isn't charged, only speed capped 1mbps but means you can still get notifications at least, and Telstra coverage.

To be frank, don't need super speeds on mobile, generally have access to Wifi at home and work. Just needed affordable and consistent service.

EDIT: Plan upgrades are seamless, banked data doesn't change - so you can run the higher plan to build data bank then swap to the 25/month.

      • Im on the lowest Belong plan available and on the occasions I've used 5G its always been over 150mbps

    • TO be honest, if they offer 100mbps or above, you won't notice the difference. Ive been using Felix mobile 20mbps (now 40mbps) and have never had a slow down for anything on my device.

  • Can you port into this from Boost?

    • Yes

hoping I can put one of these 5G sims in a 4G router

Yes, I've been using this as my main internet connection for several years

    • Damn i should do this

      • Belong mobile broadband plan would possibly be a better option.
        100GB Mobile Broadband $35/mth
        Or 20GB $15/mth

        • The mobile plan is more flexible. After activating on the $30/25 GB plan, you can change to the monthly $25/10GB plan. Then you can ask your 'eBay/Ozbargain friends' to gift you data whenever you need (~7c/GB). You can use the data over any period as long as you still keep the base plan going.

IIRC, with the broadband data plan, data gifted to you expires after 30 days if you haven't used it.

Works better in the UK, they have unlimited data plans uncapped speeds and if you're lucky you get ~400Mbps in decent areas.

I was paying $15/mo for unlimited internet while there on an extended stay. Fair use says 500GB but even that's plenty, and it states "for 2+ months in a row" so would need to be heavy usage to even have a chance of going over fair use.

  • What if you're an existing customer on one of these plans with the bonus data offer from last year? Does it automatically continue or need to contact them? The t&cs don't specify for new customers only.

    • "Connect or upgrade"

Meaning applies to existing customers for new services or those upgrading.

$45 Belong starter sim currently on sale at JB’s for $20

  • Note that their prices increase quite often, usually every 6/12 months.

  • I just joined belong. Signed up to the $55 sim then changed to the $25 plan and bought the $68 700GB belong data gift. Saving heaps more doing that then staying with regular Telstra.

  • Hi guys,

I'm thinking of signing up to either the $35 or $45 plan with the bonus data as this is more data than I would use in a month.Does this mean I could bank any unused data (inlcuding the bonus data) for 12 months then change to the lowest plan and basically top up my monthly data with whats banked? I cant see anything in the T&Cs saying bonus data cant be banked.

    • Yes, you can. The faq says “On a Belong mobile plan, the data you get is yours to keep. So if you’ve got data left over at the end of your billing cycle it’ll roll over to the next month.
That includes any data you receive as a gift from another Belong customer and any bonus data you get as part of a promotion. You’ll also keep your banked data if you change to a higher or lower plan. Woohoo!”

      https://www.belong.com.au/support/mobile/data-and-usage/can-…

You don’t even have to manually transfer data, say you have 300g in the bank when the month rolls over, that is automatically part of your data available in the next month.

I was with belong, very happy with them. This was also on a double data for a year deal. Moved over to JB Mobile (also Telstra) to take advantage of the $750 voucher offer (plus a ring camera which I returned for, you guessed it, a $179 voucher, which I then put with the $750 price matched to costco for an apple watch ultra, cancellation fee started at $550 or so from memory).

    Main point of my comment:
    Was with belong and happy
Moved to JB mobile to take up voucher deal (belong, even though telstra, is able to swap to JB and take up offers).
    Now moving back to Belong.

  • Purchased the $45/m belong sim from my local woolworths today for $20. Doesn't appear to be advertised at that price.

10% off a shop also applied to this…so $18 when you use that.

  • Belong doesn't have access to full Telstra network, like Boost does?

    • +1

Correct, it’s the wholesale Telstra network. For what it’s worth, seems to be little difference I’ve noticed in regional Tas, but guess rural and remote mainland is a bit different. You can compare coverage maps.

  • How does it compare to Tangerine, when it comes to speed and customer service only https://www.tangerine.com.au/mobile/sim-only-mobile-plans
