I feel like many can. They aren't as frugal as you might think. Also if they are working with audio it's actually quite a good buy for this price.
I believe the cheapest price in the last couple of years before this was $311 when sennheiser sold them directly on ebay.

i ended up just getting a used pair of ebay for $250. i always wanted the OG marble tabletop colourway with 4 egg headband (in the first picture of the sennheiser website), the current model black/grey ones are boring AF.
