Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin $52.50 + $10 Delivery ($0 C&C from Limited Stores) @ BWS

Decent price. Seems to be stock available across a few stores checked. Should also be stackable with 25% cashback offer through ShopBack: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/919486

Did have some difficulty with C&C at the local store yesterday, apparently their bottles didn't match the product code when scanned, but it was resolved in a few minutes. YMMV. Was priced at $65 in store.

A contemporary Australian take on a classic dry gin, carefully distilled in copper vacuum stills. Using their unique cold distillation process to eliminate the adverse impacts of heat, Archie Rose has been able to create botanical distillates of clarity and distinct flavour that redefine their signature spirit and reimagine Australian modern classic gins!Native sunrise lime, geraldton waxflower and hand foraged dorrigo pepperleaf unite the east and west coasts to deliver a quintessentially australian dry gin. Serve with a drier style of tonic or with soda. Mix it in classic cocktails with citrus elements such as a Tom Collins, Southside or Corpse Reviver. Try it neat or on the rocks with a squeeze of citrus.

  • Cant wait for the Gin trendy phase to run its course.

They are all basically the same - quickly produced stuff pumped out by newly formed companies who have realised this trendy product is quick and cheap to make. And one of the few growth areas in the alcohol industry.

    • it's dying fairly quickly. I believe that's how ink gin came about. their rum cellar got washed out In a flood so they were stuffed and then they decided that they could do gin because they could churn them out in under 6 weeks.

    • I would argue there is more variation in gins compared to other white spirits because there are no limits to the different botanicals etc that can be added. The prices can be pretty ridiculous though.

      • Insane what a bottle of Roku goes for these days!

    • Couldnt agree less - they are 100% definitely not the same. Try Roku.

If you're buying this at this price, just be careful on pickup they aren't giving you the new version, which is only 40% alcohol vs the original at 42%. Looks like Archie Rose are shrinkflating their signature, that's slightly troubling.

That said, if folks are just after the alcohol, the straight cut could be on clearance - $41.30 at a store near me.

    • I really like Archie Rose gin, but honestly, their cheap one (the straight cut linked above) is great. It's almost my pick.
