I purchased the 930d soundbar several months back and yet to set up.
Is it now safe to update it when previously it bricked the soundbar and people had to get replaced or fixed.
Obviously mine is still new in box and still to be set up.
I have a:
Samsung 65" BU8000 Crystal LED UHD 4K Smart TV [2022]
and a Panasonic 820 4k player
I do have a standalone blu ray player which has not had much use from probably 13 years ago or more so it might be good to connect this as well, or maybe no need as the 4k player will probably take over that now as it plays i believe blu ray also.
Obviously the instructions might give me a guide but what’s the best set up to have with what I have on these devices? As I’m not that clued cup with arc and all that stuff,
It maybe clearer when I dig out instructions on set up but thought I ask here who have similar soundbar.
I do have spare leads etc so I’m not sure if I will need more but will know as time goes on.
I do have these speaker stands I need to set up that holds the rear speakers.
But until I know where I put them I may need a few extra things,
Also I’m sure I read or watched a vid where a guy said not to use the Panasonic 820 apps like Netflix etc as it’s not the best and said probably tv does it better.
But I’m sure it’s mentioned elsewhere to best use a streaming device but which one?
I think Apple was highly recommended but i believe you dont get the best out of it with the soundbar?
Then on the other hand I’m told if streaming from the tv apps is just as good.
Obviously i want best of both wolds i want to use it be the best for my devices I have or soundbar to get best sounds and obviously same goes with watching my media discs etc.
Maybe I don’t need a streaming device but if it is going to make a difference what is best and why?
The Samsung tv has apps already on it but is it the best to use.
I will mostly be watching 4k and blu ray but I do have Netflix and Amazon price to might use this at times.
Obviously when it’s all set up i probably will need to tweak some settings to get the max out of everything but for now it’s mostly just general setup of my device and what gets plugged in where.
I believe once I am set up what do I need to tweak for best 4k quality and sounds for my set up as have no clue on that.
I also have Xbox x as well
For connectivity, TV -> Soundbar via HDMI port with e-arc. All other devices connected to TV via HDMI
For streaming, I prefer a standalone streaming box (AppleTV) but steaming apps built into the TV can be fine, and there's other capable streamers available if you're not in the Apple ecosystem. The next AppleTV OS release is rumoured to be bringing back bit-streaming audio which will be a welcome addition. The DP-UB820 is a great 4k player, but a poor streamer.
