  • How does this machine compare to the Breville Barista Express Espresso Machine?

    • +1

I have this and while I tweaked it and have finally got it pulling decent espresso, I'd recommend the breville over this. It can get decent coffee, just not without tweaking the settings and patience, whereas a mate's breville barista express has just worked great out of the box. I bought men during the Qantas sale a few years ago ($300ish from memory) and at that price it was worth it.

      • I have the Breville Pro model which is currently pissing water all over the bench every time we use it due to internal leaks.. but its lasted a few years so maybe I shouldn't complain? Big price difference currently between this and the express.

  • Sounds like you just need to replace the Grouphead Gasket. Happenee to me, easy diy fix and the part is like $5.

    • the plastic pipe elbow cracked open which I believe is another common fault with the breville as the tubings all cheap plastic. Its a $20 part +shipping but also needs a pinch pliers to install ($20 at bunnings) and about half a day of work total to replace. Still some water leaking not sure where so could be the group head I guess, lots of rust as a result of water all over the internal parts. On the positive note the DeLonghi's we'd previously had probably last half the life and the rust was a ton worse than what I've seen on the Breville in key areas where water flowed through.
