Saving of $33k… below is copied from drive.com.au

Jeep has slashed the price of the Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrid (PHEV) by more than $33,000 to clear stock equivalent to between two and a half, and nearly four years' worth of sales, five months after it was cut from local showrooms.

The latest price cut of $33,090 – now $77,760 plus on-road costs, down from $110,850 – follows a $600 reduction as part of Luxury Car Tax changes last year, and a more substantial $18,500 drop in the Grand Cherokee PHEV's RRP in May 2024 (from $129,950).

It means the final stock of the Grand Cherokee PHEV is $52,190 cheaper than the same vehicles 18 months ago.

    Saving of $33k

I savings an additional $77,760 would be a wise choice

I rented one in the US for a month and it was actually quite a nice drive. Very very comfortable and decently equipped. Handled heavy snow up the mountains perfectly.

I would have actually considered one, if not for the endless horror stories here and constant worry they'll exit Australia sooner than later.

      • +4

Oh they are fine when new for a while, then the low quality starts to show itself and bam, lemon

      • +1

I also hired one in the US and had a lot of fun driving it but I sure as hell wouldn’t buy one.

Hey guys check it out, this guy is trying to get us to buy a Jeep

  • +2

Big discount, but I wouldn't touch a Jeep PHEV even if Jeep wasn't likely to pull out of Australia…

  • Bargain. Just not for me.

i'm sure than if you owned this for 18 months and put on nominal mileage that you would get $52k back…

    80 kW electric motor.

    Battery Gross Capacity (kWh) 17.3
    Up to 52km electric range

    ought to be illegal

    • What?… That's quite normal for a PHEV

      • +1

quite low actually, you'd expect around 80km as a minimum. This thing must weigh close to 3 tonnes.

edit, 2,536kg without bags of meat sitting in it

      • -2

I think he meant there numbers don't match. With that powerful motor, the battery would last about 13 minutes. In Australia you can not go 52km in 13 minutes.

(Please don't neg me, I'm just trying to understand his comment)

        • I do actually mean that this Jeep seems like a scam product and not an actually useful PHEV.

80 kW electric motor is going to make the pure electric mode a chore to drive.
Then the electric range is too small even for a daily commute.

One of the dying brands in Aus. Jeep should have taken care of the Indian customer making them a song.

    • -2

no one likes Indian customers! tight asses that never pay or have excuses not to pay.

Op you can be a good sales person

  • This should be an SRT model, cos it can do a 1/4 mile at a time.

  • no one I know that used to own Jeep specially grand cherokee have any positive feedback since owning the vehicle. calling it a lemon would be a compliment

  • +2

Is an extra 15% off for AfterPay Day applicable?

  • Stay away from plug-in hybrid if not from reliable brands. More items to break.

  • Don't buy lemon.

  • +2

RRP of $129,950 is having a laugh

  • +3

There are people who will stand on your nuts for a lot less than this and you'll have a comparable experience

  • Yikes! And I thought getting my Abarth was a steal at about 40% of the original price. But imagine buying of these and then seeing Jeep knock I down to less than half price a year later. I would be super pissed.
