If that exact thing happened in the first 70 minutes, no one would be arguing about whether it was a penalty — the conversation would be all about whether it was a yellow or a straight red. The only reason it’s even up for “debate” now is because it happened in the dying minutes of the game, and people get caught up in the drama instead of the actual rules.
That said I'm not sure the Wallabies would have won the series anyway!

It’s high contact. Penalty every other day of the week. The Italian ref was garbage. He even missed high contact in game 3 from the sidelines. Useless, and will be quietly sacked.
You sure about that? French and SA commentary post game agreed it should have been a penalty.
