I just ordered one today and they told me the backpack will arrive late next week or the week after.

They also have the Exos 48L in stock for $279 (a solid deal but not uncommon)

Osprey rates this pack for loads up to 16 kg, but I’d recommend keeping it under 14 kg for optimal comfort and performance.

  • 58Lis nuts .

    • Yep.

I've got a 55L Kawka and even with winter gear i have a hard time filling that capacity up.

      • +1

I had an Exos 48 and not big enough to put in all my winter gear. 58 is definitely too big for 3-season for its weight limit

    • but can your backpack hike?

    • +2

Not really. If you go on week long hike. With food stove gas cyclone and clothes and socks and all other stuff you need It’s not enough. I reckon 65+10 is good for long hikes.

      • Yeah it's a pretty normal volume in 3 seasons.

Winter I'd argue it's still pushing it, assuming you are actually hiking and for a week or more of food, with proper gear and a tent, I'm easily pushing 60L+.

When I did 11 ish days straight in winter a few years ago I needed to do a food drop because I didn't have the space.

      • I use a macpac 52 litre for my long hikes. My gear doesn't really change from a weekend hike, just the food carry. I'll use my exos 38 up to about 4 days.

Anything more than about 8 days and I will usually need a food drop, but more than a week of food sucks to carry anyway.

  • That's a great price for the Exos. I also recommend going to the shop for a fitting if you are local. I got mine from Wallaroo last year. They knew the product inside out and took the time to make sure it was properly adjusted for me.

  • I can't back order. @SeaDoggo how did you do that?

    • Just give them a call
