I found this deal 10mins ago and was researching it. Pulled the trigger now to avoid it selling out. The DDR5 and Zen3+ make this better than most others under the $500 mark.

Also this is one of the better known brands. Alot more reviews out there.

    See review link

  • Do they have a model with 32 to 64GB RAM, and 1TB SSD? Do they have a hard disk e.g. 2TB for data?

    • -1

How do you expect that mini pc to fit a whole hard disk in there. I've got a similar one and it's shorter in length than a regular full sized SSD.

      • I want to get one to replace my 10 years old PC. I got about 1 TB data on an old Seagate 2TB hard disk. What will be the best option? Those computer from Techfast? But I never play games. I don't need an expensive Video card. I typically open 4 or 5 programs at the same time (MS Word, Excel, Access, Gmail, etc.) I have a 2.5G LAN.
        Thank you for your advice.

        • +2

A 2.5" external hard drive for whatever junk you have on that 2tb hard drive, and plug it into this mini PC on the occasions you need to access it

or alternatively buy one of these and chuck a 2 or 4tb NVME SSD in the second (spare) slot that they have

10 year old PC? wow why ???? would you keep a PC for this long???

          • +4

@kungfuman: What can't a 10 year old PC do today?

          • @kungfuman: I am an old man so only replace my pc when really necessary.
I am still have my wife of 45 years.

          • @kungfuman: My laptop is 12 years old lol. In fact, it has been my daily driver since I got it, and I got it 2nd hand.

    • They have a 1TB option and 32gb RAM. But it's only stocked on there website at the moment for $537 delivered. Better to just upgrade yourself.

  • Not sure if it’s better spending $200 more for the Mini PC MAGICNUC AG2: (AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS, 32GB RAM, 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD).

    • any link? thank you.

Sold by Magicnuc, delivered by Amazon. Magicnuc is a private company registered in Hong Kong less than 2 months ago. Not a single review on Amazon (or anywhere else that I could find).

      • +1

Bosgame, Reatan, Magicnuc, just another rebrand of the same units

It was $310 in October last year when I got one and will probably be around that price or lower when sales happen later this year.

This one is prolly a little better bang for your buck:

Hands down worth the extra $65. nice find

      • No Win11 though :(

        • Go to Allkeyshop and buy a Windows 11 Key for ~3 euros

      • only single 2.5GB LAN port - won't matter for 95% of buyers

    • +1

DDR4 Ram but still pretty good
You can also go this one for the new gen processor - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0DFQ68LWQ?ref=fed_asin_title&t… $495.99

Why wouldn't you consider this - it's always around the $300 mark ??

    GMKtec Mini PC Intel N150 (Turbo 3.6GHz), 16GB DDR4 1TB PCIe M.2 NVMe SSD, Desktop Computer 4K Dual HDMI Display/4x USB3.2/WiFi 6/BT5.2/RJ45 Ethernet Nucbox G3 Plus

      Ryzen 5 6600H is 3.5x - 4x as powerful as N150.

      https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/4943vs6304/AMD-Ryzen-5-…

probably won't matter for most users, but will feel it in game emulation etc.

      • Yep - not into gaming - considering a mini for my bedroom - see if there wifi / networking would be better to supply MKVs to my TV than what the TV on WiFI provides

      • I've had to use the N150 in a Chromebook and it was a miserable experience and couldn't even handle web browsing properly (though possible partly ChromeOSs fault).

        • maybe low memory and chromeOS being the issue? I've been using a 12GB DDR5 Intel n100 on a daily basis for almost 2 years now. Email, web browsing, 1440p youtube, usenet and the occasional torrent. Handles all of those with no issues whatsoever.

As Jaspa7 was saying, the CPU and even more so the iGPU are different classes. Also DDR5 RAM, USB4, two Ethernet ports, etc.

All that for only $100 more is pretty good.

    • +1

The n150 is worth it only under $200.

This ryzen is much faster. Even installing ms office etc takes a fraction of a time vs the n150

  • How safe are these?
I know there's been discussions regarding one's sourced from aliexpress.

    • +2

just put your own OS on it.

otherwise, probably just as many hardware exploits as anything else really

    • +1

You can wipe it and reinstall Windows.

  • Thanks for sharing this. I've been considering a Mini PC for general desktop usage (e.g. word processing, some basic photo editing, data analysis, PowerBI etc). I'm just wondering what option / specs I should choose. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    • +1

I've been using an Intel N100 12GB DDR5, 512GB SSD for almost 2 years for nightly web broswing, facebook, email, youtube watching at 1440p and ISO downloading using USENET. When I want to play games I switch on my full size desktop for that. Depends on the workload you're doing re: data analysis and PowerBI - my AMD 3700X 8 core CPU with 32GB DDR4 used to struggle with datasets over 1 million items.

  • what best under 200 atm with ddr5 and wifi6 with may be 12 to 16GB memory. Don't mind the CPU.
