    I don't get the point. Too bulky for hiking, and too fiddly / too expensive for car camping.

      It is not suitable for solo hiking. Its main feature is that it can be folded up to save space. It can be opened and used in just a few seconds.

      How did you arrive at this being too fiddly? The design looks great to me - fully folds up into a neat package and has like 2 simple steps to get going.

      Also not sure how $53 is too expensive - have a look at Anaconda. They have a somewhat similar design available for $99, and then you go into Jetboil territory which is double that again.

          They all have a time and place - I will pack both my cheap knockoff Jetboil as well as the two burner stove.

      The design of the foldable butane stove is safer than that of a conventional butane stove.
      1. It does not have the same high combustion power as a conventional butane stove, typically not exceeding 3000W. However, it is more than sufficient for daily cooking.
      2. The burner core of the foldable butane stove is positioned further away from the gas cylinder and is located diagonally above it. This reduces heat transfer.
      3. The gas cylinder and valve body are connected via magnetic adhesion. If the gas cylinder heats up and the pressure exceeds the magnetic force, it will be ejected. In contrast, conventional butane stoves secure the gas cylinder with a locking mechanism.
      This is why foldable butane stoves have become so popular today.

    Just be aware that these perform poorly in windy conditions due to the inherit design but this can be rectified with a wind break.
