  • We have a Philips 7000 series kettle (w/ temp control) for a few months, it was on specialy at $69, so far pretty good.
It has double wall design that doesn't burn your fingers when touching, and very quiet compare to plastic and single wall metal kettles.
The only down side is it take ~30 seconds more to boil at full load.

  • +1

Lid sucks as it always takes a couple of tries to actually open it
Also drips boiling water down the handle if you use it twice in a row. The boiling water from the first boil condenses on the lid which when you open the lid to put water in a second time, the boiling water on the lid drips down the low point, ie the hinge above the handle, onto your hand. It needed a drip groove on the base of the lid to stop that
Obviously because it's metal you can't see the water level without peering inside which is where the volume indication is written, that's fair of course
It's passable as a cheap metal kettle but really the first two things are basic design flaws that shouldn't exist

    • Agree, condensation dripping from lid for consecutive uses & water level indicator only on one side of inner wall are two things we notice too.
For opening the lid, it works every time for us though.

  • This was $39 on 8th June

  • We've got this one. No plastic parts that touch the water. Works well and I haven't had any issues with the lid or dripping (mentioned above)
