  • nice find op, you might want to add JBHiFi in the title

  • How's the motion on these? I was looking into the C7K and a lot of people had issues with the motion handling and regret their purchase.

    • Epic. TCL's cheap stuff, like everyones, is cheap. The C7s not even miniled.

I had the gold standard for motion, Sony OLED before. I prefer this for the vastly brighter and poppier colors, even in broad daylight on the weekend, with all my curtains open. The motion obviously isn't as good, but it's pretty damn good, once you dial in the settings. Sometimes get odd ghosting on edges (like f1 cars top intakes) but its rare.

The C7K is mini LED, the P7K is not.

There is no setting you can dial to improve LCD motion blurriness to any meaningful level compared to OLED, Plasma and even old school CRT TV's, poor motion resolution is just inherited with the technology. LCD response times can range from a few milliseconds to 10+ milliseconds. OLEDs boast response times typically below 0.1 milliseconds, making them significantly faster than LCD. BUT there are some benefits to LCD displays, brightness and ultra cheap for massive TV sizes. Luckily movies and TV shows in the past 20 years are mostly shot with steady cams and fewer fast moving camera shots and if moving shots are filmed, the focus on the subject matter does not move around the screen, only the background does.

The gap between oled and lcd has all but vanished, even compared to 3, 5 years ago. Yes, its superior. No, you can't see that at midday Sunday in a well lit room. Not even on the latest G5.

The price premium oled demands isn't justified, and isn't even apparent anymore unless you're in a controlled room.

          • @Ademos: OLED pixel response time is 1000 - 5000% faster then the best LCD. If you cannot tell the difference in motion resolution at such a huge delta, it means your eyesight is failing (happens to us all as we age but good prescription glasses solves that). As a positive, that means you can now get a cheap TV like Kogan and you won't be able to tell the difference in motion resolution.

@Dollar Dreamer: And 2 grams is 1000% more than 0.002 grams. Both are still absolutely (profanity) all in practice. See how statistics work?

Honestly. Sit down. The oled fanboyism was cringe from the beginning but is bluntly outrageous in 2025. The motion handling on the tcl minileds is excellent, rivalling Sony's. The gap isnt even close to what you're pretending it is, and hasn't been for some time. Your stance is simply….behind the times.

@Ademos: It's good that your eyes are giving out, no need for name brand TV's, you won't see the difference. Stick to Kogan.

  • how does one pick up an 85" tv?

    • +1

      With a forklift.

    • Fits in the tub of a double cab ute with the tailgate down.

You'll have to stand it upright as (with the box) its wider than the wheel hubs.

      • +2

You're meant to stand TVs upright anyway right?

        • +1

Definitely, the tv and it's packing is designed to be transported upright

  • Guessing there is no way to have this shipped into NSW or to a NSW store for pickup? I want one for sure.

  • +1

Are there any non display models available? I'm not sure I'd like one that's been on all year

  • Does anybody know if you are able to somehow use the gift card on the purchase of the tv at the same time? If you talk to the right person. My main jb guy helps me out all the time

    • Probably only valid for JB gift cards not Ultimate etc for online purchases. Will need an eftops machine to activate other cards

  • How does QD Mini-LED compare to OLED?
