β-Titanium Japanese Styled Glasses with 1.61 Aspheric Lenses from $49 Delivered @ Kairi Eyewear

25

We are a new up and coming eyewear brand offering affordable high quality Japanese-styled frames and lenses without the markup!

Owned by optometrists, the business seeks to revamp the industry with sustainable premium materials with high quality fitted lenses. We don't agree with just providing just the basics - all of our lenses come with:
- aspheric/freeform design
- thinned lenses
- blue light and anti-reflective coating

What does this mean ->

ChatGPT Response (To save you the research): Compared to standard 1.5 index hard coat lenses, 1.61 aspheric/freeform lenses are slimmer, lighter, and reduce peripheral distortion for a sharper, more natural view. Combined with a blue light protection coating, they ease digital eye strain, improve comfort, and protect against long-term screen exposure. The result? Clearer vision, stylishly thin lenses, and healthier eyes for the digital age.

Our frames are made of a titanium alloy to ensure your glasses will last a long time. The style also reflects the Japanese minimalist style but we also offer edgy and vibrant styles for those looking for something more.

ChatGPT Response: Beta titanium frames are ultra-light, exceptionally flexible, and highly durable—offering all-day comfort without sacrificing strength. Unlike standard metal frames, they resist corrosion, hold their shape, and adapt to your lifestyle, making them perfect for both style and long-lasting wear.

  • Just FYI OP, your descriptions have ChatGPT all over them

    • Hi Geshc,

haha yes that was intentional so our customers wont have to research it :)

      • Why not write it yourself?

        • They did. Also provided the ChatGPT version.

        • We definitely could have haha.

We thought to add it in because some people who do like do their own research via engines like ChatGpt so thought we would save those the time:

Our response would have been that 1.61 lenses provide thinner lenses, reduced distortions due to reduced chromatic aberration and reduced zernike aberrations.

Ever notice the barrel effect/fishbowl effect in the peripheral regions of your lenses? Well that can all be reduced by using aspheric/freeform lenses. By flattening your lenses you reduce this by allowing light to travel and refract in your eye for a more I guess you can see organised and refined vision.

It has always been a pet-peeve seeing mismatched lens parameters as optometrists as we know you could be better off. And we don't like costs to be a barrier (there are great lenses out there but can typically be +$400 for SV lenses). Hence why we created our online store.

Are you registered with health funds?

    • +1

we do have a provider number and can provide an invoice with such details as needed. When doing so inform us which health fund provider you are with so we can maximise your claim and minimise out of pocket expenses.

  • which glasses is the one in the picture displayed above the link "Go to Deal?"

    • +1

      Tsubasa (翼) - 6110

      • Thanks! Do you have measurements of the glasses so I would be able to guessimate the fit?
And whats the return policy like if it doesn't fit well?

And I usually get "Asian fit" glasses since the regular ones go a bit too low on my nose, are these asian fit or more regular fits?

        • +1

In the frame description there typically is a lens and bridge size.

The Tsubasa is a medium-large fit.

We do offer a 30 day return policy.

There is a combination of both Asian and regular fits

What's the the meaning Japanese-artisan frames? Are the flames made in Japan and hand made?

    • +2

      Made in China, machine made.

    • +1

Unfortunately not, just styled :( . We would love our frames to be hand made/crafted like DITA frames (which we hope to do further down the line) but our ethos is to provide affordable eyewear and hand craftmanship will raise the costs too much.

So not at this very moment

      • +1

So, they are not Japanese-artisan frames… The wording is confing, you shouldn't use.

  • +2

Everything is AI generated or ambiguous.

  • Do you have any frames that have flat arms, so I can comfortably wear headphones over them?

    • +2

most of our titanium frames do :)

  • +2

The only trace of Japan here is the prompt they fed into AI.

  • It defaults to blue glasses and not black when selected. Also do you have matt black?

    • may i ask which frames?

  • Also what's your ABN number? Assuming you're based in Australia.

  • +2

I doubt this is even owned by Japanese

  • how do you even input your prescription on this site? same frames and lenses listed twice for diff prices. ngl feels like a scam

    • One of the selection of frames are just for non-prescription blue light glasses and the other is for prescription. The product page with the prescription will have a tab to select your lenses and input your prescription :)

  • Can i get multifocal lenses fitted on?

    • Yes you can :) They also come with a 30 day warranty/guarantee if you run into any issues with them.

      • What's the cost?

        • Starts from an additional $70 on top of the advertised frame price.

  • +3

this is just an ad ?

    • +1

      What’s the bargain or deal

  • +2

Not Japanese at all, best not to try and mislead the community. And the description reads more like an advertisement than an actual bargain.

Say no to OzB becoming OzFreeAdz.
