[VIC] Hisense 145L Hybrid Chest Freezer $239.99 in-Store (RRP $349.99) @ Costco, Ringwood (Membership Required)

490

Best price I can find on this freezer – switch between fridge and freezer mode.
Spotted today at Costco Ringwood (VIC), they had 10+ stacked there.
Online shows $389.99, but in-store marked down to $239.99.

Good to keep all those half-price Woolies ice creams or Costco meat packs.

these are very efficient even more so than a fridge.
133 KW/H a year = under 400W a Day or = 20W an hour. Why cant this be powered by USB (it needs AC)???

    • +1

You'd need more than 20W or 5A to start the compressor

I bought this freezer second hand, it's fantastic. When I got it home I put the watt meter on it and over 3 hot days 32-38º it remained at under
550W per day, in winter it's around 350-400W per day or about 15Wh. In the eight months I've owned it I have not needed to defrost it,
with only a small amount of ice build up over this time. The Hisense freezer is surprisingly light, I was able to squeeze it into the back
of my Skoda hatch for transport home. The freezer is very quiet and the lid adds some valuable bench top space to our small kitchen.

      • It's Wh per day, not watts per day

Your calculation is based on continuous usage, so it only reflects the average. However, in reality the operation is not continuous — it’s more of an on/off discrete pattern. This means the average usage is different from the actual demand profile, as the device requires higher voltage and current during peak periods.

    • Firstly stop switching Wh with W.
Secondly 400Wh would be cumulative over the day. There are times where the fridge does nothing, it's an insulated box. Then it will detect temperature falling below a certain figure and fire up again. So it operates at up to 83W.

    • Chest fridge/freezers are honestly the GOAT when it comes to power efficency.

    • so yearly cost of around: $35.37

    • My compliments for checking the power usage and being suspicious of these little fridges. Some smaller fridges use the same power as a full size fridge and many people don't check it.

  • This is a good price. Good Guys has it for $274 and would be cheaper if the PAYDAY code from Afterpay still worked but it seems expired already.

Has anybody priced matched Costco warehouse prices at AppliancesOnline based on photo evidence?

Their T&Cs say it should be "in stock at an online Australian retailer". Costco does have an online retail presence but this is a warehouse price and they have stock. Gonna try my luck tomorrow morning.

    • +3

Ok they didnt pricematch with costco. Pricematched it with TGG pricebeat at $269 delivered instead

      • +1

How did you get $269 delivered. I have $59 delivery fee.

        • AppliancesOnline deliver for free (at least to my area). If they tell you that TGG have a delivery fee (they have till date never accounted for delivery costs at the matched retailer when I price match), just tell them you dont care about delivery as you would be going to pick it up from the store. They should end up ignoring the delivery fee as you would not have the option to pick up from an AO store.

I price match and go with AO instead of TGG or the other cuz it saves me delivery costs.

  • Bought this from Costco online delivered for $249 (save $100 back then) about 2 years ago. I love it, it’s an awesome small freezer.

  • Also, it’s in this months in store savings catalogue on the app, so should be available most stores until 31/8

  • out of stock. Also says $279.99. :(.

Website price which includes delivery. In store cheaper but you need to pick up.

  • Amazing chest freezer, so efficient and barely any ice build up after a year

  • Bought this yesterday in store at Costco Epping - have yet to plug it in but looking like we made a great decision

  • I got it. Easily fit inside the back of my Golf. Weighs next to nothing.

Not sure if its gonna be meat stock or sauces. My fridge is 50% cooking sauces but I also bought the latest aldi vacuum sealer.

  • I bought the 200L version of this a few months back and it’s awesome. Love the 5 star energy rating. I paid $339 at Good Guys

  • i bought this 5 years ago for $268 and sold after 1 year for $350.

  • Thanks for bringing this freezer to my attention. Costco wasn't an option for me, so used Appliances Online to price match TGG (likewise could have used JB-Hifi) of $274. The free delivery by Appliances Online sealed the deal for me.

    • How did you get the free delivery for Appliance Online ?

      • I think most items on Appliances Online are free delivery.
