Finally, an Android iPad Mini. This thing is a beast for emulation too with the 8 Gen3 as it's got driver compatibility.

The small tax is unfortunate though. 8gen2 Tab S9 (11 inch) has been $300-$400.

    • 8gen2 Tab S9 (11 inch) has been $300-$400.

      When?

The cheapest I've seen is $399 if you trade in an existing device. For the tablet alone the latest deal is $577.

      • There was a trade in deal. You could trade in something worth $1 like a broken apple watch. Also there used to be more coupons you could stack but Samsung stopped being so generous.

  • But are there really good mobile games ?
Might as well buy a steam deck?

Not really, gatcha games or ps2/3 emulation.

At best it's a 9" OLED monitor used for game streaming at home, but then you'd get more value with a legion go/y700 for game streaming.

  • This tablet is so powerful for gaming, I been using it with GameSir G8 Plus Bluetooth.

  • Do note this isn't the latest model with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. That starts at US$499 here.

    • Specs stated: Next-Level Performance with Snapdragon 8 Elite: Equipped with the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

That's confusing; the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 came out in 2023.

Looking at the rest of the specs, this Amazon one is indeed the same model. The product title is just wrong. Sorry for the confusion!

  • Things to note about this one…

    • only ONE USB-C port and it's off centre so using a USB-C controllers means the tablet will be awkwardly positioned
    • using BT or USB-C controller blocks your only USB port, so no charging or display output
    • NO SD slot to expand storage
    • speakers are positioned on the sides so they get covered by the controller/palms
    • NO 3.5mm audio out, and if using USB-C adapter can't charge
    • speakers are positioned on the sides so they get covered by the controller/palms

The speakers are near the corners. If holding it in your hands, can't you just rotate it so the speakers are on top and not blocked by your hands?

and if using USB-C adapter can't charge

Yup, you'd have to get something like this.

  • Anyone actually purchase this? The Amazon seller "Gamegeek AU" has a single review and only has 5 items listed in their "storefront"… I'd be pretty cautious…

    • I haven't, but it's shipped by Amazon so at least you know Amazon has the stock on hand.
