But why would you buy import stock when https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/samsung-galaxy-a56

    • Local all seem to have 8GB ram

    • I think it's the storage. Local 128GB feels like not enough

      • There is a 256 variant locally but I think ram is 8gb there

        • You're right, i stand corrected. I've only ever seen the 128GB on sales

    • 12GB, 2 physical sim + 1 esim

Amaysim (as noted earlier) $489 total cost - phone $459 + $30 SIM. Not worth paying an extra $110 for extra 128Gb and overseas stock…
(we bought the A36 last week and can confirm all you need is the $30 to complete the purchase)

    • 8GB vs 12GB ram

    $460 at amaysim

please confirm the amaysim deal is the 256G rom with 12G of ram ?

      • rom = read only memory, do you mean storage?

        • The manufacturer writes the firmware/BIOS/system instructions onto the ROM during production
End users typically can't write to it (hence "read-only" from the user's perspective)

So the ROM chip itself contains pre-written firmware, BIOS code, boot instructions, etc. that were programmed onto it. These instructions tell the device how to start up, initialize hardware, and perform other fundamental operations.

so I guess really it is 256G - 9.5 GB ( figure includes the entire Android operating system)

Before people making negative comments, this is grey import stock with 12G/256GB, VS Australian stock has only 8G/128GB for $429.
However I do agree that it doesn't worth paying $170 more just for the upgrade + losing local warranty.
Why pay $600 for A56 when you can get S24 or S24FE for less than $700 during specials?

    • Or when you can just get an X7 Pro (12/512gb) with better hardware for around $500
