    25% off Century Car Battery

    This one?

You don't see many of these around…

    • +1
    • You're a silly goose

    • +1

You’ve got the wrong Century. This deal’s for batteries, not land yachts with curtains in the back.

      • Toyota definitely messed up with the new century. Apparently the new one has less power than the old

        • The new V8 hybrid has 317kW while the old V12 was about 220kW. These boats aren't about performance though, it's all about smoothness, they're designed around having a VIP in the back seat.

  • +1

the century batteries dont seem to have a very good reputation

    • -1

      They did in the 1900's

      • +3

        That was last century.

        • Correct

    • +1

I was going with Bosch before but put a Century AGM into my car 4 years and 1 month ago and it is still going strong today. Did a battery health check and should last me past the 5 year mark.

    • +2

The Australian made overlanders are great

    • +1

I got a N70LX MF and after 3.5 years, it’s still going strong.

Defo recommend them, along with the century battery charger.

      • +2

Mine only lasted 2.5 years, but that could be due to living in a hotter climate. I ended up buying a Supercharge brand battery from Autobarn because it was cheaper and the warranty is a lot longer.

      • Got the same one. Lasted about 3.5 to 4 years. I just replaced it less than a month ago. I'd only expect about another 6 to 12 months out of it.

      • @pogichinoy NS70LX MF is still $250 even after this 25% discount.

Next time find your local battery store - you can pick up the Exide Red equivalent for $200 every day of the year ie. https://moorabbinbatteries.com.au/products/exide-suv-4wd-die…

what regards to? I think the terminals corrode and give the blue power stuff pretty quickly compared to factory batteries. But never really tried other brands to get a opinion on it. Have had plenty of century batteries last just as long as OEM ones which is 4-5+ years.

      • +1

Huh ? The terminals only do that if you forget to put the grease on 🤷

      • Century Yuasa make OEM batteries, particularly for Japanese makes.

    • Compared to?

      • I've gone to Delkor this time. Let's see if we get past the warranty period on it.
Warranty years seem to be a sales pitch more than battery life now it seems, most people forget and battery has that immediate necessity to be changed that makes most people overlook the warranty question.

  • Dam, just bought one from Autobarn on Sunday.

    • +4

nothing stopping you from buying from here and returning the new one to Autobarn, unless you paid for them to install it

  • how much does it cost extra for Supercheap to install and recycle the old battery?

    • +4

      $20 for members $25 non-members.

      Had it done recently.

    • +4

Batteries can be recycled at Supercheap for free at any time.

      • They throw them in the ocean for you.

        • +2

They sell them to pick-a-part wreckers and those wreckers sell it to used car dealers - so essentially give it to any used car dealer and they'll be grimmimg ear to ear over a free old battery!

      • +1

Scarp metal place will pay you for it

        • Not worth going out of your way, you'd be luck to get $5.

  • +11

For those of you with a manual transmission Mazda vehicle with istop, you can disable the istop permanently by disconnecting disengaging the switch under the hood. Then you can purchase a regular battery and not an overpriced istop battery. Honestly, istop is one of the most useless features on the Mazdas.

    • Auto transmissions as well. The factory battery is 5 years old now and still going strong.

      • +1

Our battery lasted 7 years before needing replacing.

    • thanks

    • It saves the planet, 30 seconds at a time.

    • Istop is useless on all cars. It's for omissions, The car running for 20 secs at the intersection is harming the environment 🙄

      • does istop keep the aircon running properly? just curious if they ever fixed it. I think on Mercedes back in the 2015s cut the AC out so thats given me a bad opinion on start stop.

Anyway drove a PHEV recently and its great that the AC can run off EV batteries when the engines stop.

        • +1

That was the main problem in sunny Queensland. On a hot day, you'd have your aircon on, you stop at a red light, your car turns off for, your aircon then realises it needs the engine running to cool, so 5 seconds later the car and then starts the engine automatically again. I mean at least it was smart enough to start the engine automatically, but it was an absolute waste of turning off in the 1st place.

    • Or jam the button in with a piece of cardboard and it automatically switches off for you when you start up

  • Just in time to change my car battery, hopefully it will help others who needs to change their car battery soon..

    yes….just decided that I need to today……thanks

    • Well it’s a common time of year for it, mine failed to start last week and it’s only putting out 300 of the initial 550 CCA’s

It’s ok for now but need to be replaced in next few weeks

      • +1

I thought mine was only a couple of years old then I realised I got it before covid…..time flies

  • +1

I bought a battery from bunnings my car exide still going after 4 years

  • +1

25% off and it's still $50 more than Toyota and $20 more than TotalTools RRP. Yeah nah! Make sure you shop around.

  • Just get from costco.

  • +1

  • i have cx5 with istop can i install it my self?
