  • Is this a good upgrade from a standard single unit wifi router?

But this is dual band. If you use wireless backhaul, bandwidth will be halved?
Can’t complain with the price though.

    • Correct, these are more beneficial for range, definitely not speed.

    Sold out already :(

  • Damn missed out

  • I found the performance on these are very inconsistence. It drops out alot. Connected with ethernet cable, and it still drops out. Is there an optimal set up i should be follow. Does anyone else having problem with these set?

    • Have you tried using them with the mesh feature turned off?

  • Not sure if it's an Asus mesh thing, or just old tech.. but my PS4 and Solar inverter just HATES mesh. You have mesh on, and they routinely drop out of fail to connect, have it off, and it's fine.

Mobiles and tablets have had no issues. Very annoying.

    • If you're using devices that don't support 802.11s you will have issues, usually better to disable the mesh feature and just leave the roaming up to the device to handle. Mobiles and tablets do a pretty good job of jumping between access points themselves based on the signal strength.

  • Has anyone tried the Tenda AX3000 mesh setups? Look to also be on what appear to be a reasonably good sale (not compared to this sale but this is sold out). 150 for a 2 pack.
Or the 3 pack Tenda MW6 for 118.

  • I bought this recently

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/256621255008?_trkparms=amclksrc%…

Was suprised it has a dedicated 5G backhaul, but I'm using it via wired.

Been pretty happy with it. Like that both units are routers so it doesn't matter which one you connect to the internet. Took 10 minutes to have it all setup, including the firmware update.

I just wish android would work with mesh systrem better to move to the stronger signal rather than hand onto a weak signal foir dear life.

Owned this 3 pack ~3 years ago, and found them quite unstable with units randomly freezing, or dropping out requiring mesh reconfiguration.

Stopped using them and replaced them with a newer model and haven't had any issues since.
