Sofa with Chaise - Where to buy in 2025

Where ozbargainers purchase sofas in 2025?

I'm looking for a 3 to 4 seat sofa with a chaise. Trying to keep costs as low as possible.

Still undecided about fabrics, velvet and leather - but fabrics would be cheapest.

Ikea seems like a safe option, but they all look a bit plain after owning a few of them over the years.

    Facebook marketplace

    • Only thing holding me back from buying bulky items off marketplace is the lack of a ute.

      • If you have a tow bar just borrow a trailer from Bunnings

Low-ball the seller, pay in cold, hard cash. Demand delivery.

        • What do you mean pay? Try and get it for free with delivery

If you don't want second hand wait for the deals furniture shops. Plush will have 50% off couple times of year or so. Saying that their overall prices have gone up a lot.. Like everything these days.

  • Velvet lounge from marketplace.

  • i've just sold and bought on maket place.

Entirely dependent on your budget, but over the years I’ve continued to buy furniture from ozdesign furniture as I like their styles and the prices are reasonable during a sale.

We bought a leather 3-seat chaise sofa back in 2017 for about $1400 I think, almost like new today, minimal loss of cushion height.

  • I spent a ridiculous amount of time looking at chaise lounges earlier this year. Two standouts for me were this one from Plush and this one from early settler

Most important part was comfort to lay down on, thus why the one from Plush was really good (those padded arms are comfy and very uncommon on any couch that's not also a recliner as well). Ended up with the one from Early Settler. Biggest downside is the cushions move too much and the chaise isn't permanently attached so it was moving around a little bit, but some stick on velcro fixed that. The cost did it in the end, the one from Early Settler was around $1100 and available straight away, vs the $2,300 the plush one goes for on sale and a 2-3 month wait. Plush one was massive too, was going to be very difficult to get into the house due to box size.

It also won't be well looked after, so there's not point going too fancy in my case.

    • Thanks mate .. good feedback. I'll check them out.

We have one like this. The mechanism to turn this into a bed is really easy. It is a tad firm so we have a topper on this. We generally leave this as a three seat chaise longue.

    • Not a bad price and looks decent. Might check it out in store

  • I have a 3 seater chaise from Fantastic Furniture which is pretty good. It's definitely on the firm side though. The chaise can be swapped to left or right and as a bit of a bonus, it is Australian made. They start from $1299 now, but I paid $1100 about 2 years ago.

Feels decently made and the fabric feels like it's durable. Happy with it so far.
