I'm running them on a Ryzen 7 7700 and don't see EXPO profiles on the MSI motherboard i have. seems marketed more towards intel.

Running memtest at the moment for testing stability and it seems to be holding up to spec so far.

    CL32. Great price!

Blimey I paid $150 for 6000CL32. This is a ripper deal!

Curious if there's a benefit to 7000 vs 6000 for amd? Isn't 6000 the sweet spot due to the infinity fabric syncing blah blah? In theory faster is better but what's functionally the 'best' here

    • +1

6000mhz or 6400mhz with faster timings would realistically be better for a majority of use cases.

      • Why?

        • +1

Because then the speed of the RAM matches the Infinity Fabric of the AMD chipset.

        • +1

1:1 clock timing with Infinity Fabric … if you force the IF to 2:1 it wastes CPU cycles waiting for RAM clocks :/

  • There is also the 7200 version https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0BT71KFTQ?th=1 for $2 more.

CL34. (aware that CAS latency increases with increase in transfer speeds). Strictly a sidegrade.

  • Reviews look pretty scathing

Now I need a DDR5 motherboard, and a new CPU, and a new CPU cooler with new mount.

    • +1

      Lol. Same :-|

    • +2

Me too. And a GPU and a PSU and a case

      • Lucky for you, I saw a few GPU deals posted recently.

        • Damm missed them all. Were there any $500 deals too?

          • @EnALup: Just HODL and deals will show up. Unless your CPU has no integrated graphics =p.

Never have I had Patriot RAM that actually reaches the advertised speeds, always can't boot with XMP/EXPO enabled or get serious memory errors. Better off just getting some real name-brand sticks that actually reach advertised speeds.

  • +2

Not a spokesperson for Patriot, but even highly rated RAM can fail or underperform. What some people don't understand is that RAM speed and stability depend on the CPU, motherboard, and RAM working together, not just the kit itself.

    • Yeah. Especially with aggressive profiles like this, there's less margin for differences in individual components

  • +1

This is XMP. Really want it to be EXPO for AMD

    • +1

Anything over 6000MHz won't be EXPO, but you can just set the timings for AMD in the BIOS anyway.

  • I'm more partial to kingbank memory from Amazon tbh.

    48GB 6000 CL28 for 200$, 96GB 6400 CL32 for 400$. See if the stuff actually works when I get it XD
