Gaming 34" Ultrawide under $600

Mostly RPG's with the occasional shooter so no need for crazy high refresh rate, im thinking 144hz minimum.
Right now planning to grab something from kogan that fits, any other recommendations appreciated.

  • I was eyeing up the Mini-LED one from Kogan. Seems pretty good on paper

  • I just bought this recently while it was on sale for $399 and loving it https://www.centrecom.com.au/philips-evnia-34m2c3500l-34-180…

    • any major downsides? seems well spec'd for the price

      • No major downsides from my use. However, it does have HDR, but I have it turned off as I don't feel it was good but it could just be due to my lack of knowledge on how to adjust the HDR settings on the monitor. Also it is a VA panel but it is not the typical VA panel as seen in other monitors. This is touted as a Fast VA panel so there is a lot less ghosting. When playing FPS games for example, I notice a lot less ghosting and motion blur.

For the price, I am really happy with this monitor and have already recommended it to mates.

        • Hey there, a couple month now. Still like it? I’m considering it as it seems to be the best value for money with a Fast VA panel.

@EitherWayUp: Have had it for around 3-4 months, so far so good. I don't regret the purchase.

    • How long ago was it $399? Great deal.

  • https://www.dell.com/en-au/outlet/refurbished-dell-34-curved… I've bought a refurbished unit and it comes with 3 3-year replacement warranty. 1 year in and the panel developed a flicker issue in a dark background. As a result of the warranty claim, Dell sent me a brand new monitor manufactured in 2025 instead. Give it a ago, the 3 year replacement warranty is GOLD!

    • The rtings review on this one isn’t promising

      • from personal experience, its good enough.

  • Not sure if you grabbed something but i grabbed this:

Reviews on YouTube seem favourable, there is a replacement model that’s 240hz 0.5ms but it’s around $700 and from what i understand it has a slightly worse screen in terms of contrast

I’ve researched as much as my brain can handle. The model I linked is discontinued now so mwave is the last place you can grab it.

    • How's the black smearing? Would you happen to know the difference between the CU34G2XP and CU34G4? Cheers.

I’ll report back once I actually have it but this video did a good job covering it for me

From my research the normal CU34G4 is that it has a lower contrast and worse HDR. It is a cheaper model than the XP
