Short answer is no. This is a fundamental certification so it is too easy to obtain.

        • +1

Depends on your study and work background. You can certainly do this certification if you already have IT background and experience so you can add to it.

Otherwise better off go and do courses on building houses related jobs (plumbing, electricians, construction, etc)

        • I would advise against tech in the short/medium term.

Lots of big companies clearing junior roles by using AI, going to get worse as it improves.

Trades should be immune for quite some time.

The exam costs $100 USD. This particular certification is useful if you are a manager, but is insufficient if you are a tech person.

I dont even consider this a certification, even for a manager.

        • That's why it is fine for a manager. It's easy for managers to obtain. My manager has it and my colleagues and I are AWS certified solutions architect professionals. The manager gets a much higher pay. Most companies generally are willing to pay for the exams (if passed).

Also, when the manger has that certification, it kinda puts pressure on the tech staff to get at least the associate level certification. My manager didn't need to do practice exams to pass the exam.

I did it as a manager a few years ago. It helps me understand the concepts. I let the architects and engineers do their higher certs.

          • @edisonAU: Did u invent light; that Edison?

          • @edisonAU: It does not even go into concepts. You literally add no value to any technical discussion neither understand it.

      • +1

It is a starting point for everyone INCLUDING tech people

    • Not sure if this is a troll or just emphasis with all the caps. Either way, no need to neg the question.

For what it’s worth—if you’re unemployed, some cloud training could help. At the very least, it shows you’ve picked up some basic cloud literacy, which can give you a small edge over others with no exposure.

It's a lot better to just use AWS services for your own project. I believe that's worth more weight in gold than certificates. You showed that you applied practical knowledge to setting them up

    • -5

No, certifications in general are pretty worthless. The only reason to take them is if your company pays for them as requirements for them to have certified people on the team.
