[PC, XB1, XSX] Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 Cross Gen Edition $56.21 (25% off, Was $74.95) @ Xbox Store

90

There's a few other decent deals in the current Xbox sale, but 25% off a game that's just over a month old is good enough for me.

Game is an absolute blast, yes they changed some stuff, yes they cut some stuff, but I've sunk a good up odd hours into it and I am nowhere near stopping. If you're on the fence or have any questions for someone who's been playing these games for 20 odd years (and never stopped tbh), hit me up chief.

Word is GTA6 delayed itself to 2026 bc it didn't want to have to compete with THPS for my game of the year this year.

Edit: PS, I tagged it as [Xbox] as it's the cross gen version, it works on Xbox One, Series S, Series X, probably something else too, but it's all the Xboxes, pls don't change the tag to XSX, I hate that goddamn tag.

PPS, it's not on sale on other platforms yet, but ideally they follow.

PPPS, forgot about goddamn Play Anywhere, my tag got changed. Shame this silly OzB way of tagging Xbox games implies it won't work on Series S now.

  • Such an awesome game for XBOX PLAY ANYWHERE, can play it on yourP xbox one, xbox xs, or PC, as well as any PC gaming handheld including the ASUS XBOX ROG ALLY devices once they come out.

  • Wow already 25% off, only came out last month

Might or might not have something to do with the negative reviews from people bummed about the missing/changed content. They're right to be bummed, don't get me wrong, and I'm bummed too (mostly for the soundtrack tbh), but the game itself is excellent. Proper good refined classic THPS style gameplay. Plays like it jumped right out of the PS2 in the best possible way.

      • interesting you mention the soundtrack because the team working on it made it very clear early on that they had to navigate that and that was an issue for them. so the soundtrack changes should come as no surprise to anyone who took a bit of interest in this game's development.

        • Never underestimate how out of the loop the masses are.

Also though, they kept 10(or so) songs out of the 50(or so) songs from the originals. No one returning player was ever going to be happy about that, but moreso a lot of the new songs are absolute garbage. There's some serious bangers in there for me too, but there is some absolute garbage that, as much as I hate it, I do skip whenever they come on. Music is a huge part of the THPS experience.

BUT, that's just me. Most people are probably complaining about
          - broken spine transfers / acid drops
          - 2 missing levels from THPS4
          - less create a skater options than THPS1+2 which was already substantially less than the PS2 era games
          - 2 minute timer format on THPS4 instead of open world NPC mission givers
          - shitty performance for a lot of people (no problem for me on Series X or Switch with over 80 hours, but my Series S for example, if I pause it and go over to the "skater" tab, it will hard crash. Every time. So even I'm not immune)

I'm firmly in the camp that the game is good and I'm of the belief it more than offers a $75 RRP worth of value to the average player tbh. The THPS reddit is a mixed bag of people glazing the game HARD and flaming it even harder. No one hates games more than gamers.

Note this game works on steam deck as you can load it via battle net launcher

    • For real? Like the Play Anywhere version from this link? I already bought it on Xbox and Switch/2, I wasn't gonna spring for it again on the Deck when I already have the Switch/2 version/s but I'd defo download it if I already own it.
