Interestingly, there’s actually research suggesting that penguin imagery is associated with heightened female arousal, due to the symbolic link with pair-bonding and monogamy (see Journal of Comparative Social Symbolism, 2017).
Complementary studies have also demonstrated that reduced ambient lighting increases perceived interpersonal attraction (e.g., Interpersonal Perception Review, 2014).
By that logic, your penguin-shaped lamp may represent a uniquely optimised stimulus for mate attraction.
I called up Baby Bunting in Alexandria and they mentioned that they were out of stock and she checked the other stores in Sydney and they were also out of stock unfortunately.
Great for the main bedroom for some mood lighting to impress the ladies.
Especially those adorable, little penguin balls…
