Swapped from Sumo to Energy Australia

Hi, I recently switched from Sumo to Energy Australia and was wondering when any credit from Sumo account should appear in my Energy Australia account.

Anyone know the answer to this?

Thanks
Nev.

  • I think this is in the wrong forum. Sorry.

Edit: Thanks to whoever fixed it.

Why would a credit from Sumo go to Energy Australia?

Either you'll get refunded from Sumo or you'll lose the credit, depends on the terms.

Bugger. It's credit from government rebates etc. There's over $380 there.when I switched. Do I contact Sumo for a refund. I can't afford to lose that much money being on a pension.

If it's government rebates, contact sumo maybe they can transfer it. Im sure you're not the first person that switched and had gov rebates from a switch.

        • Thanks. Going to call them during business hours.

They should refund you for government credits, but give them a call to follow up.

Are you always this helpful, or just here to make my life more miserable?

I just made the same move after they decided to pay 0 for solar power back to grid. Call them during business hours. They will ask for your bank account details. Money will be in your account in 5 business days. (Took 7 business days for me).

    • Thank you. Makes me feel a little better knowing that. Not like the previous stupid remarks from Wiadro

  • I mistimed my switch from ENGIE and they refused to refund the $5 of federal gov credit I hadn't used up

Who is the govt credit supposed to benefit? The consumer or the provider. If they've done this to you, they've probably done it to many others. Energy ombudsman I think should make them feel uncomfortable enough to regret their decisions.

      • I agree with your point, however I haven't paid them a cent as I was using their $200 signup credit anyway.

Someone on ozb said AGL uses up gov credits before applying their own signup credit too.

Powershop refunded me $2 of the gov credit and I never paid them a cent either.

  • Update: Called Sumo today and my credit will be in my bank account, within ten days. Thanks for the help.
