Items do not need to be high quality to avoid being thrown away. I use many low quality items and they serve me well.
yep, I also use many lower priced item, some of them are not worth the money at any price - they will break before you get your moneys worth. sometimes its worth spending a few extra bux to get something 10 times better, wondering what the case is here.
based on the comments here, mixed bag. some have good experiences, many say its not worth it.
I picked up one on here years ago for a bit cheaper than this and it was pretty awesome for the price, did everything I needed really well. lasted until the battery shit itself at least 5 years.
I've owned one for three years, it's still going.
Mine I think I got 5 years out of it with light use. Now it charges fine and runs fine as soon as I put on any attachment it just stops.
this is e-waste if you don't know how to disassemble it and replace the 14500 battery. i bought the older version of this 10ish years ago and the battery did not last a single year. then again maybe you can leave the cord in and use it with its bypass charge mode but that means you lose the cordless functionality
something to think about if you're buying this. else you can go cheaper and find yourself a cheaper buzzer on ali or ebay
edit: ni-mh. avoid avoid avoid
Tempted until I realise it uses Ni-MH battery. Pass thanks.
What's wrong with nimh? As long as it's not nicad I'm good. You want lithium?
Discharge profile of NI-MH means the motor slows down when charge is low, thus pulling on hair instead of cutting. Personal preference.
my expensive remington li-ion one did this too, replaced batteries recently (after 10+ years) & great again, didn't want it to become e-waste
@Irishness: Good to know you can prolong their lifespan. How did you get a replacement battery for it?
@CommanderShepard: opened it up to see what battery type & then ordered off aliexpress, I think you can order from remington but a lot more expensive. The clippers are great & nothing wrong with them so would have been a shame to throw away & have to buy another set. I was impressed to get 10+ years from the original batteries
In my personal experience kt only slows down within the last couple minutes before the batteries dead.
Any good?
I have this. It's ok. Definately not a great product, but it is very cheap.
Paid $23 2 years ago and still works fine. Just use the normal trimmer to keep facial hair short. Wish I still had the attachments.
I bought this from BigW 2 or 3 years ago, it has a NiMH battery that barely powers the thing. Blades move slow and it always seems to be on the verge of running out of power. And it doesn't have an indicator to show when charged. In the maunual it only mentions something about charging it for 24 hours before first use and being impossible to overcharge.
I regret not going for the Lithium Ion version despite the higher price.
I used this before and the battery is crap and so the build quality. Later I bought this https://www.kmart.com.au/product/remington-barber's-best-per… from target for $29 during one pass days last year. It is very good with lithium battery and better quality as well.
Thanks just purchased. It’s on clearance atm for $19
Thank you, got the Kmart one
Thanks Chai8 - just purchased from Kmart via onepass (first purchase when bought onepass for $20 after $10 Bunnings voucher)
Had it for a few years and gave up. Too small.
What are you using now?
basic xiaomi enchen boost trimmer. 700mah li-on battery (14500) inside will last years
Had this. Threw it away after 2nd use. Reason being is that it was too loud, I was afraid I will loose hearing.
Mine was decent until the adjustable clipper gave out a few years in. I tried to repair it but it didn't hold and sadly had to go. It's quite hard to find a comparatively small clipper with adjustable length, but I ended up getting this one off AliExpress - small, light, adjustable length trimming (if not as wide a range as the Remington) but best of all, USB-C chargeable so it's perfect for carry-on only travel if you're running USB-C charging across devices.
Only use this for one area, safe and effective. Bought a second one when the old one gave up after 5+ years as it's not worth the risk of experimenting with a different model.
Not especially great other than no nicks on the brain..
Got one to replace my previous one I had for 5 years. Pretty good considering the price
Are these good for nose hairs? I used to get the ones that were advertised on here occasionally in the past (long time ago? ) with the circular heads, specificaly designed for nose and ears. Mine died and i need a new one. This seems like just a addon that is smaller than the normal clippers but still looks like a clipper for nose?
E waste
They were trying to flog these last year falsely claiming 'lithium' battery in the ad on Amazon
E-Waste?
Seems too cheap to be quality and reliable?
