Seems only be available to the Amazon Metro Areas. But a great deal!

No tri-band. only 1Gb uplink. Not a good buy for 2025. You can get the tp-link EAP773 for about $350

Sure, but it doesn't really gel with the Ubiquiti/Unifi ecosystem.

oh cool and it works with the Ubiquiti/Unifi ecosystem? no oh why dont you tell us what is not a wifi AP while your at it

    • TP link is literally the opposite of Ubiquity.
The security in TP link is in the negative.

I would be very very careful with this Access Point. It’s really old, and the latest firmware is a disaster. Ubiquiti has mostly given up on supporting it.

I have my U6-LR permanently set to firmware 6.6.73 because anything newer is an unstable mess.

Edit: If you have brought this, I suggest requesting a refund. Sorry, it’s not the deal you think it is.

Really? I have a bunch of these in half a dozen sites, and they all seem to work just fine on older or the latest firmware. Very stable at long ranges too.

The latest U7 APs are great, but they are expensive, and at the extremes of their range don't seem much faster for most devices (they are quicker up close with bleeding edge devices tho)

Given that nbn 50/20 (Standard) speed tier is the most popular in Australia, the speed of U6-LR APs are just fine. IMHO.

    • Yeah I have four U6 Pros, and they have become increasingly problematic, maybe I should look into rolling back my firmware.

I have been considering an upgrade to U7-LRs.

      • Me too. U7 Pros have built in fans and are significantly more expensive, which is putting me off.

        • I recall coming across recently how the new revision U7 Pros do not have a fan anymore. If true, at least that is a plus.

          • @Gimcrack: Probably need to purchase from a retail store that allows you to check for the hardware revision before buying.

USW-Flex-2.5G-5 now has an AU version (with AU power supply), but I noticed some online retailers recently sold the US version at a discounted rate.

      • Which firmware version are the U6 Pros running?

        • My U6-Pro is running 6.6.77.

            @guidedlight: Likewise

            What issues are you having?

            • +1

@sssbp: My U6-Pro is fine on the latest firmware. Thankfully.

              • @guidedlight: Great to hear

Is there a method on disabling auto firmware update for the U6 Pro? Googling doesn't provide any hints either

I can only seem to find it for the UCG-Fiber and networking module, but not the AP itself

Thanks for this, I would have grabbed one for a legitimate long range use case on a large property. Might look for alternatives.

I have one of these and don’t have any issues. Been running for years. Currently on 6.7.19. Same with the U6 Lite.
