  Yep. Bought some a while back. The part that sits between your phone and the case, the thing the strap latches to, is made of plastic. I snapped it with a light pull - it's not going to stop someone snatch and grabbing your phone

I think the objective is different. The lanyard is to prevent it from mislaying your mobile phone or losing your mobile when taking photos by the cliff or on a boat. This is not supposed to be holding your body when your lanyard is caught by the car door.
