Thanks OP, I bought 12 for my kids, all 12 of them.

  • I was gonna say sockpuppeting but then these mf headphones really do cost 3500

    That's HD820.
Not so good of a price for 800s, but indeed a good price for 820.
I ended up returning these and got the 800s though.

  • link and price are for the close back hd820

    • I sorry I meant to post HD 820. But H800s is the same price on their website.

    • this is what the deal is fam.

It was initially linked to the HD820 as per the above comments.

  • If anyone happens to need a recommendation for an amp or DAC to pair with these, my "entry level" setup consists of a Schiit Modi Multibit (which Addicted to Audio happen to also sell), plus one of these (also on sale):
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Xduoo-TA-66-High-Performance-Tube-…
And they sound fantastic together. If you decide on that particular amp though, just be warned it weighs a ton (probably a good indicator of its quality though).

    • Is the Xduoo good for FPS gaming?

      • Maybe? The HD800 is good for gaming due to its wide soundstage, and the TA-66 has great synergy with the HD800, but my experience with this combo is limited to listening to music- wherein the tubes of the amp are augmenting the sound signature by adding a touch of what people would call "warmth" to supplement the otherwise very neutral sound of the Sennheiser; however it does so in a way that reduces their imaging quality very, very slightly, and I can't guarantee whether that might impact the amp's performance in the context of gaming.
Regardless, it's a bargain at the asking price by audiophile standards and tl;dr - OTL amps like the Xduoo work best in tandem to Dynamic Driver headphones with a high signal impedance, so if your current pair do utolise DDs (and ideally operate at >30 Ohms) you could do a lot worse than this one.

        • Thanks for your detailed answer. I’m using a pair of Hifiman Arya Stealth, not sure if they’re a good match.

          • +1

@HillsKing: No worries at all. Also, those are some nice headphones you've got.
The Arya uses electrostatic drivers and are relatively low impedance
(32 Ohms, vs. the 300 Ohms of the HD800/S) so probably not a great match unfortunately, but if you are looking to upgrade still have you considered the JDS Labs lineup? I think the Atom stack come highly recommended as a pairing, or maybe look at the new Element IV combo.

    • I've got the HD800s with the Schiit Gunnr.
Very good for gaming, and adjusting for music. pretty reasonable in price too.

From their website, directly. On is the sale

  • ATA has good price? thats news

    • +2

Not a good price. Check the deal history here. Senn official eBay store has for about 1499 from time to time if you monitor

      • For the HD820 it's atl but also that headphone sucks from what I have heard.

        • HD820 has been as low as $1699 on official Sennheiser Ebay without Ebay Plus.

  • 20 times better than philips shp9500?

  • I'd rather buy these than the shp9500 20 times.

  • do they do the listening to music ting
