JB Hi-Fi ETC - Porting to a New Provider

Just a quick question, hoping to get some clarification on the porting process for a JB ETC contract payout.
I jumped on the iPhone 16 $1200 gift card voucher deal and got the phone on Saturday. I have in writing confirmation that the JB agent will refund my first month once the transaction has settled (no longer pending). I have a Woolworths Mobile SIM card on its way. I signed up to this contract with my main mobile number, meaning I cannot simply just "cancel" the plan as I have seen other people have said in previous forums, as that will cancel my mobile number.

Once the SIM card arrives, do I just start the porting process in which case JB will contact me in which I will then pay the ETC fee? Or will I be doing this another way?

    I signed up to this contract with my main mobile number

      Thanks for the helpful input. I wouldn't have thought to use my main number if that was specified in all of the other threads

    Just port your number. Once ported the JBhifi account will be closed automatically and you'll get sent the final bill.

      Awesome, do you think there'll be any issue with "paying back the gift card"? I've seen some threads discussing that as well.
