Been on the hunt for a 2K monitor for my little bro since his gave out, and this seems like the best value at this price point right now. Ships from: 17 Sep, 2025.

You’ll need to trade in pretty much any monitor, working or not, to get $50 off. If you don’t have one lying around, you can usually grab a freebie off Marketplace or Gumtree to use for the trade in.

Next, head to chat, ask for a discount code and they'll give you 10% off.

Can stack further $50 off for first time Samsung App users when you spend $500 or more.

Just a heads up, his is a pre-order and ships from 17/09/25.

  • Any comments on picture quality and features of the G50Ds in general? I'm looking for a multi-purpose monitor, mix of office work, gaming and watching movies. From RTings review it seems to be OK (for the price) but HDR is lacking - I think this is an issue with most IPS panels?

This is a very well reviewed monitor, just copy and paste the model number in google LS27DG502EEXXY, 4.6 stars with 1.1k reviews.

  • Does this monitor support DDC/CI ? its painful to adjust the brightness with the actually button

    • Couldn't find anything on that, however most gaming monitors do, with this in the "budget" category I'm not sure though

      • Yeah, because i bought their high end G7 4k144hz gaming monitor and findout later that I cannot adjust the brightness because Samsung does support DDC/CI

        • That's shocking for that tier of monitor, the G50D was only released mid last year though so may be equipped. Fortunately its for my the little bro who has low expectations and as long he can play his ps5 he's good.

          • @TWISTYY: True, really depend on the use case, for myself I will try to avoid montior lack support of DDC/DI

  • thanks OP, my current 5yo samsung 23'' is having issues with the panel, going to trade in for this.

    You are a good brother.

    • How do you know this?

  • Hmm this or the Hp omen 27q?

    • mm the g50d has dp1.2, which maxes out at 144hz at 1440p.

      • it works up to 180hz using usbc (thunderbolt 4) to display port 1.2 cable. HDMI maxes out 144hz
monitor is quite good, plenty bright, vivid colours and at 180hz very smooth
i bought it for 279 from centrecom on the weekend as i needed it now, otherwise less $50 + loyalty would have been much better.

        • Yeah it uses some software called OSD to get to 180hz on dp1.2, which should be fine.
Still think I might get the hp omen as its cheaper without trade in. Welp, OOS already so thats that decision haha

    • I'm lookng at alternative monitor options and I'm wondering whether the Lenovo Legion R27qe might be a winner. $279 from Lenovo direct, might be able to get a coupon to bring it down a little more.

The specs look good against the G50D:

      • On paper the r27qe looks good but people report the viewing angles is very bad

        • Cheers for that. The search continues.

That G50D was like a freaking unicorn. Spewing that I didn't jump on it straight away!

          • @m13: its still available from other retailers for about $280 + shipping, which is not a bad price.

  • This is a good deal. Surprised it isn’t getting more traction!

  • How can i order 2 at the same time. Cant see Qty.

    • +1

I'm only seeing a Get stock alert button now…have they stopped pre orders?

      • Yup OOS

        • Sad face. Really need to act quicker and be on OzB more for these deals!
