  • Hi any sale on just the 8ch poe NVR?

  • Why is Reolink pushing these vandal-proof cameras so hard? Are they a really slow seller and they have to juice the deals to move stock?

This vs Dahua NVRs and cameras?

Skip the domes. Unless you’re in a vandal-strewn area, bullets and turrets typically perform better and don’t suffer from dome glare issues.

And always buy from AliExpress instead of the offical rep “deals”…

    • Any recommendation for 4 cams ? Please

This my recommendation for a starting point: https://reolink.com/au/product/rlk8-833d4-a/

Rico can almost always find a better price, but the above package includes a decent NVR and modern, well-featured cameras at a reasonable price.

        • Thanks but Rico said Skip the domes this is domes what are the drawbacks anything major?

@WwDesi: The 833 cameras are turrets, not domes.

If you have a look at the cameras in the original deal, they have a hemisphere of vandal-resistant glass/plastic covering the camera lens. The dome makes them strong and difficult to tamper with, but can cause weird reflections and distortions to the image under certain lighting conditions.

            • @klaw81: Cool thanks for clarification 🙏🏽

@WwDesi: 833A are great cams, particularly if are going to need/use the 3x zoom. Personally, I'd go with @klaw81's alternate recommendation over the OP's deal. But then I'd also wait and try to buy them on AliExpress so you can pay 40-60 cents in the dollar, but I don't believe they currently list the same kit. They do list the RLN8 or RLN36 for $210 and $180 respectively, and the 833A's seperately for around $100 each, so you could try and put together a combination of parts to take advantage of their current sale and bigger discount codes listed previously on this site by @Clear.

If you don't need to zoom in to a distant area or to better frame a narrow corridor, the ColorX range provide better low light coverage, albeit with no zoom capability. If that's you, look out for the CX810 (bullet) or CX820 (turret), which can also be had on AliX for similar prices to the 833A. Most experienced users end up using a mix of different cams depending on the use case. I use ColorX cams out the front so I get great late night vision of anyone approaching the house, and Trackmix, Duo's, 820A's and 833A's around the back and sides where I have different needs.
