One of these days ozb will make me buy one of these things..whatever they are

    • +2

Too late for me, ive bought one. Damn you OP i didn't need this.

  • the MF1000 is down to $91.94 using WBMF100AU and $5 off promo with prime

    • I hope the MF1000 blows 10x harder than the MF100.

      • +6

Feel like it would blow at least twice as hard

Are these any good I've always wanted one but can't really justify it

      can't really justify it

      There’s your answer

  • +1

Why are these things so expensive? There is a $17 one on AliExpress which is probably good enough for most uses.

    • I bought it one frok Temu which costs $45 to $80 they are useless and did not work continuously and every tike it shuts and maximum 5 minutes thats it.
I was lucky that I spend $45 but got $20 cashback plus $10 bonus cashback so does not mind.
And it takes more than 2 hours to charge to use another 5 minutes. Which is useless.

      • Are you sure is the Violent Fan X6? I did find similar complaints on the X3 model. The X6 is advertised at 4hrs usage time on low speed, so on max speed you would have to assume it will last at least 15mins? With the 6000mA you should be getting a lot more than 5mins usage. Who knows, maybe the one you got was actually faulty? Anyway, at $17 plus 14% cash back it won't break the bank even if it only goes for 5 mins usage.

        • Na its from Temu advertised 8000mah battery but did not last 5 to 7 minutes but heates a lot and swtich it off automatically.

          • @Avi0001: Sounds like a faulty battery to me. At 8000mAh should go for more than 5 mins. The reason it switches off automatically is to protect the battery. Batteries do not like to be fully discharged and you damage them permanently. Rule of thumb: if the automatic switch-off activates, do not turn ON the unit again. Charge it first to prevent battery damage.

If this lasts 4 years, that's about $10 a year.
    Use cases:

    • Cleaning tight/unreachable spots on electronics (I'm a reseller so this alone is worth it for me).
    • Quickly drying small areas/items (figurines, glue, paint etc)
    • Blow drying your butthole after using a bidet

MF50 is a better value proposition than the MF100 IMO. You're getting 80% of the functionality for 50% of the cost. From videos I've seen, the MF50 is very powerful.

    • Good luck. The battery will die by then. My opolar died with light usage

      • +1

I think the Opolar was particularly bad, there are numerous reports online of poor quality cells and various wiring issues.
Wolfbox is somewhat reputable. There's also a video on YouTube video showing a teardown of the MF100 which uses generic cell that can be user replaced.

Blow drying your butthole after using a bidet

Thanks, was on the fence about this but am now sold!

      • +1

Lol np. On a serious note, this travel bidet I take everywhere with me, it's great. Will work well with the MF50

        • Hahahahaha no way!

Good way to think about things. I 3D printed some cutlery holders the other day and they're getting a bit dirty. Can't throw them in the dishwasher and I cbf wiping them down, I was thinking maybe I just re-print them all. But it's going to cost $15 worth of filament, do I want to spend $15 a year on filament to avoid a 10min job cleaning them? 😂

Probably not good for the environment also of course.

If you point it at a fire with glowing embers you can pretty much heat it up to the temp of Mount Doom very quickly

  • My new MF100 already found a niche and pulled its weight. I printed a holder for it and the attachments to mount on an Ikea Skaddis board. As soon as the print was done I used it to cool down the build plate in something like 10 seconds. Definitely beats having to wait around for 10 mins while the thing cools.

Forget cleaning dust just grab two of these (MF100), hold them backwards like ski poles, hop on a skateboard and hit the switches. Instant rocket mode (Warning: neighbours might not appreciate your sonic boom 😅)

  • is the MF50 enough for day to day or should i stick with MF `100?>

Mine just arrived and oh my god! Out of the box, its amazing! Will be interesting to see what else I can use it for, but will be very handy!

    • So how long does it run for continuously?

      • Unless you release the button from what it seems. How long are you after? I can test.

        • Do you think it goes more than 10-15 mins at full speed?

          • @AceIsMe: Manual says so

          • @AceIsMe: Why do you need it that long? If you do, you need to consider a different device. I would say it wouldn't and I am not going to try for that length.

            • @geekcohen: All good. I was just curious how long the battery lasts for. I guess in real life you would only use it for short period bursts anyway.

      • Just seen on the box

        Theorectical Endurance: 19mins

  • used to clear off dust on a light fitting that has evaded vacuums and dusting brushes for years and it worked really well

  • Damn I was too slow, it's back to 62.99.
