[PS5] CarX Street: Free for PS Plus Members (Was $44.95) @ PlayStation Store

890

You can buy this for $22.95 if you are not a PS+ member, however, kind of pointless as it's online only and requires PS+ to play.

Not enough reviews to get a MetaCritic score - https://www.metacritic.com/game/carx-street/
One user review points out that the developer is a Russian company, so you are supporting Putin if you are to buy it, take that as you will.

They're not sure if this is an error or not so grab it while you can.

Yep, get it first, think about it later.

      • Just did. Thank you. Never even heard of this game. 😁

  • The cover art gives me serious Need for Speed vibes.

closest game to need for speed underground since NFU2.

Pretty fun game, I paid less than $15 for it on pc/steam and it's been well worth it. I wouldn't pay $45 for it.

Seems to have some mish mashed design left over from the mobile game version so it starts off saying you need to pay in game cash for no2 but you never have to, you do have to pay for tyers and fuel but you can make easy bank with lots of the races.

Drifting competitions are hard as f—k tho (or maybe I just suck) and the games a.i difficulty ramps up after the first club class.

      • How did you compensate for the absolutely horrible understeer? I chose the Civic-equivalent as my starter car but quit after ten minutes because it handles worse than a boat.

All my tunes are for grip so far. Some of the upgrades are misleading, one of the biggest was using the racing tyers as opposed to elite and I think I lowered the pressure of them a bit?

          This guide was pretty good:

I think there is also a bit of specialization of car class/club as some of my cars do great in certain clubs but that very same car absolutely gets smashed in the track races in the top right of the map.

Now that the time trial races are back I read that you can see other peoples tunes on them but might be hard to cipher through the cheaters.

          • @A-mak: Thanks man, I'll have a tinker. After quitting in frustration yesterday, I went back an hour later and persevered a bit. I found the world and events enjoyable enoguh and I was able to beat the first two Wild Juniors races with my car upgraded to just before the C2 rating. But try as I might I cannot beat the next two races and this is on easiest mode. You get absolutely punished for not sticking to the line and it's so impossible to do that with the understeering.

@A-mak: My biggest gripe is that, as far as I've been able to tell, the game itself doesn't onboard you to these systems. If I have to scour reddit posts and Steam forums and Ozbargainers for the information, that's just bad game design.

  • Thank you OP copped! How did you find this?

  • Great find OP

  • If this is free for PS Plus members, does it stay in the library after your subscription ends? Or is it like other PS Plus games where you can't access it when your sub lapses?

    • It's not part of PS+ "free" games, so it remains yours. However, as per my original post, it's online only and requires PS+ to play.

  • seems this is only free for aussie ps+ subs, I have a US ps+ sub and it's not free

    • Nope, free for Europe and other regions, just not US and Canada, maybe others.
Aus and NZ fall under the Europe store coverage.

Still have Knack 2 from a post here a million years ago (store error) and 1. They never took it away and 2. I’ve still never played it

    • Same thing for me, plus Monster Hunter Worlds.

  • This game is already free on mobile?

Supporting Putin by buying this video game?

That is the most ridiculous rubbish I've ever heard..

    • In Soviet Russia, game developer support you!
