EDC Backpack for Tech Professionals

Hello, I have been looking for quite awhile for EDC backpack 20L max with budget around $200.

Looking for a recommendation if anyone has a suggestion, I am also thinking maybe mark ryden from AliExpress for cost effective and functionality wise it's ticks my requirements but unsure about the quality, I have been looking at several brands and afraid they are too flimsy I like somewhat a structure backpack/padded not just the coverings.

EDC (for reference):

Wallet/keys
14" laptop + charger
Several pens/pencils + eraser
A few dongles/cables just in case
Medium-size sketchbook
Collapsible umbrella
Lunch box
Water bottle

Rain proof and looks sleek or modern to go with a suit occasionally.

    I had to Google 'EDC'.

    ali

I have been considering rolling the dice on some aliexpress AER gear. Looks legit and decent feedback about quality.

Otherwise if you can spend a bit more, I have and like the PD Zip v2 20l for some time now.

The zips are never as nice as you would want them to be!

just received a flight pack 3 in xpac off ali, pretty much indistinguishable from my other genuine aer gear. Did spend a bit more for it compared to the other listings but still more than half off what they retail for here.

Might grab one of the able carry dupes next and see how it goes.

  • wait until an american tourister or samsonite backpack comes on sale

  • Samsonite Lite Point. More on the heavier padded side of things but you seem to want that.

  • Big fan of the Dell Eco loop Premium, the material is really nice and the colour and slim style seem to go well with suits, it goes on sale for $99 or less fairly often. Has heaps of pockets, including a hidden wallet pocket and a shoulder strap pocket to hold ear buds or passes…

  • As someone else said, almost any pack is going to work so it's personal preference. I went through a lot of packs trying to find the ideal one and in the end the best was just a high quality pack and everything else was in "modules" eg a module for cables and adapters, another for tools etc. By the end of my IT career I'd perfected it, now I don't need it.

  • LTT commuter backpack surprisingly decent

    • The price seems a bit steep. You think it worth it?

      • I got it during their free shipping event, so it was about $200 AUD. For that price I'm pretty happy, compares favourably to my Bellroy Transit and my mates Peak Design 20L

        • Might try waiting until a deal comes up for one of them

        • Peak Design 20L Zip is around $400 ($304 with the sale now) so a bit out of budget. The lifetime warranty is stellar though.
