Damn , fire sale on Seiko 5 sports lately or what?

    • +6

Deepak must need the shelf space.

    • +1

They always pop up on starbuy, like most other stuff.

  • Fingers crossed for SSC813 sale soon…

I have been watching the pricing every week and I haven’t seen it anywhere close to under $700 for a really long time - at least 6 months for sure.

      • Likewise, it really hasn't budged for a while! Would even be happy with $600 or thereabouts.

        • +3

Used examples on Facebook groups going for less than $500.

          • @onlinepred: If anyone gonna drop this much on a piece imo go brand new for up to $700. You deserve it.

            • @Jimothy Wongingtons: Haha, it’s just a watch, most come with receipt and warranty too. You will wear it, and you will scratch it, and it will be worth $450 after a while.

              • +1

                @onlinepred: Any other piece yeah

This piece I am taking to the grave

                • @Jimothy Wongingtons: So your family can sell it for $350 when you die? Ozbargainers could wait till then for a deal :-D

I bought new for $570 new 2 years back, and it's the one watch in my collection that I feel regret spending that much on. Bought all my other watches used.

          • @onlinepred: Yep they go for about 450-500 used. Depends on condition but I agree any more and people should buy new (starbuy had for $575 but should be able to get for under $650), and YOLO.

You're looking at the wrong stuff, mate!

    NO

  • Wow. Now if ozb could get Seiko to do a collab for 150 and maybe brand ozbargain!

    • +6

More like skmei to do an ozbargain collab for $15

      • +3

I asked AI what this might look like.

        The result is perfect

        • I will overlook the seconds at 69 as the overall package is N I C E

          • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: I assume the next second time displays as 4:21 10.

It's a built in feature to the ozbargain module 4.20.69 v2.0

      • +1

Yes a Skmei 1628 in orange.

Legend, paid $285 so a 28d price protection claim can go in :).

Fun watch, some of theae retro re-releases are cool.
    Legibility is so so.

  • I wish they still made the original Orange Monster.

  • +2

    $249 - 25 = $224

  • Zee goggles, they do nothing!

    • Think you missed the preorder on those.
I wouldn't spend $600 on a watch that is basically the same. Still cool they actually did it and is an actual release rather than the fan-based nicknames.

      • I agree about the price. Their Street Fighter collab was also cool. The below model seems to still be available for pre-order.

        • The Bruce Lee has gone up in price but it's all just a money grab and will sell for what people are prepared to pay.

Wow 950. I'd wait for 40% off but may not happen.
My Seiko field GMT with same movement was only 350$ on special, not a fan of the Seiko 5 cases in general.

          • @G-rig: Wasn't aware of either of the Bruce Lee models. I like the strap on the vintage one. I'm happy with my Addisdive quarts and a few cheapies here and there.

            • @relentless: The bracelet on this orange one is actually fairly comfy and good enough, not too jingly.

              • @G-rig: Recently wore my SBDC061 out and the heft of the bracelet is calming like a weighted blanket. Lume is so bright and long lasting as well. If I can find a decently priced winding box, I might wear it more often.

  • Today's DOTD is Citizen Eco-Drive Divers (Gold, 44mm) BN0163-00H.. $299 delivered.

    • +1

Nice, black and gold is pretty good.
I'm currently doing a cull and have a nice navy one from the states I'll probably move on. 44mm still a bit big for me, but the weight and flat caseback sits on wrist much better than the autos (like the fugu) with the recessed vase back, that try to hide the thickness.
