TV Recommendations for Room with Windows + Downlights

Looking to purchase a new TV either 65 or 75 inch.

It'll be going on a wall with floor to ceiling sliding glass doors opposite, and a narrow floor to ceiling window to the right of it. Room lighting is from down lights throughout the whole space. The current TV gets quite bad glare, making it difficult to see anything dark on the TV during the day unless all blinds are closed and lights are off.

Budget: $2000 or under.

Brand Preference: LG, Sony (but happy to consider others).

Usage: TV Shows, Movies, Switch Gaming, Occasional Rugby games

Let me know if you want any other info!

Sounds like a matte TV makes sense, they're visually not as good (you'll lose contrast) but it's better than watching glare. The C7K is meant to have some sort of glare reducing tech in it as well, probably worth going into store to check it out and see what you think.

Something like The Frame, TCL's NXTFRAME, etc have the benefit of looking good in the room as well.

You're going to have the glare problem unless the screen is matte or you place a matte screen protector over it.

And even then, it's not gonna remove the glare 100%

You need to either close the blinds/curtains and get floor or desk lamps. Turn off the ceiling lights.

    Or move the TV.

    • Cheers - currently there's just basic roller blinds over the windows that are a pain to put up and down. Getting these replaced with proper curtains sometime in the near future.

The TV is always going to have some glare from the room, there is no other good location for it to minimize it.
Just looking for the best option TV to 'overcome' the glare as much as reasonably possible.

  • Blackout curtains then you can get any tv you like.
