    • It was less than that at launch. That's a pattern we see ev5ey year

      • How was it cheaper at launch? I am confused

  • Government emails only or corporate too?

    • Corporate too

  • Anyone able to see how much a standard S23 256gb is for trade in by chance? Might make for a decent trade in by the sounds of it?

    • +4

      • Please check for me - S21 128gb

  • Any vouchers like loyalty from the chat and any discount on the app purchase?

    • -5

Yes. There's like a $100 to $200 loyalty voucher you can ask for. Not sure about the claims of a 10% off voucher. But then again, SCAMSUNG.

      • I used SCAMSUNG and it didnt work on the cart …. :)

    • +1

Just got a 5% off voucher from the chat

    • 5% off was the best I could get too. 7 day expiry

  • +1

Looks like it automagically added a bonus gift at checkout as well.
I had the S25+ in my cart and it added a Galaxy S25+ Kindsuit Case (RRP $89) as a bonus gift.

    • my trade in came at $550 on trade-in ID uploading initially it was $750 so there you go they have a catch.

    • +3

      Better deal than yesterday

  • +1

Pixel trade in are same crap. No bonus value.. seriously last time I buy a pixel. It's worthless, laggy and unenjoyable. If Samsung only had pixel quality camera.

  • S22 to S25 : $523
    S22 to S25 Ultra : $1147

    Still expensive!

  • Waiting for more review against Pixel 10 non pro

      • +3

Wow you really didn't have to do that, but thank you.

      • Mind checking s23 ultra 256gb please

        • +2

          $720

  • Has anyone traded but not declared the sceen broken and got away with it? I previously traded back a cooked dell monitor and still got the trade in bonus. Not sure if its the same with phones.

    • +2

You still get the trade in bonus but not the trade in value of the item itself. They take security deposits now, so if you trade in a broken screen then they won't refund the full value of the deposit back

  • Let's hope same discount will appear at IB Hifi along with some mobile plan.

  • Trade in price for S22 128GB please?

    • +2

      Its $390

I ended up getting one - I don't have access to gov account but turns out I have access to EPP through westpac, which is new to me. I ended up getting S25 512gb for $509 after $555 trade in for S23 256gb, 5% chat coupon and 5% first time purchase coupon. Not bad at all if I do say so myself!

    • +1

Thanks for the heads up on westpac.

  • I have an education email (wa), I followed the link but it says not a valid email?

    • +2

I think you need to register on Samsung EDU store with personal email, then at some point in this process it will ask for EDU email. May be try using a PC/laptop.

  • +2

    Meh still too expensive.

The S25 ultra 512gb was $1320 on release day, came with buds 3 and magsafe case.

I wonder if Samsung/asurion finally learnt their lesson about giving trade in bonuses. They're gonna increase the trade value instead of giving bonuses even when you don't send anything in

    • It shows as an increased trade value, But when you go through and check out it is actually a bonus. Samsung store shows trade-in value of my S21 is $320 but asurion shows its value as $120.

      • +1

I had the same thing happen to me and I spoke to the rep about it. The asurion value is the amount they'll charge for the security deposit. I think in the real world it's meant to be the same as the trade in value. However, it looks like Samsung have an extra $200 trade in bonus going on and haven't told asurion. Once you go through the trade in thing, asurion will charge you $120 (because to them, that's the trade in value), and then Samsung will charge you the phone less the $320 trade in value.

For example for my order I got an S25 512gb with a S23 trade in for $555 according to Samsung. It was meant to be $1,119 less $555, so $564 (excluding other 5% discounts). Normally I'd pay Samsung $564 and asurion $555, but for my order I paid Samsung $564 and asurion only charged me for $355, so I only ended up paying $919 total between the two transactions. I've never done a trade in before so not sure if that's how it normally works, but it seems like it's not meant to be like that!

  • Finally moving on from the s21 Ultra. The extra trade value is what got me over the line. Ended up being $1066 for 256gb s25 ultra after s21 trade and 5% discount. I guess this is what it should cost without heavily gouging for profits.

    • Nice bro! I'm on the same boat as you. May finally trade in my s21u too!!!

      • I've stuck it out with the s21 ultra for ages and didn't feel I was missing much. Battery is starting to get tired and only just get a days use out of it so was definately time.

    • for s23 Ultra 512G I was offered $989 which is not good seeing your ultra with all benefits end up $1066 for you, I should be getting around $700 mark.

      • My trade value for the s21 ultra 256gb was $425. The 256gb model s25 ultra was priced at $1547.28.
So cost was $1122.28 after trade and $1066 after 5% off, this was through the Samsung education portal.
Not sure what you are saying but your trade credit should have been much higher than mine, I can't see how there would only be an $80 difference?

    • This is what I paid for the 512gb on release

$1326 with buds and a case. Always cheapest on pre-order when they have 4 discounts stacking.

The 256gb models should be just under a grand imo.

      • I nearly did when it came out too, just couldn't justify it then as s21 was working fine. S21 battery on its way out now, so glad another sale came up

  • How is the battery on the S25, can anyone say? I picked up an S24 thru Samsung around 5 months ago for ~$450 after all discounts. Some folks warned about the battery and chip being a bit ordinary for that model. The chip seems fine (coming from an S21 before that), but the battery really doesn't seem to be cutting it, having to recharge in the late afternoon most days. Not a gamer, just youtube and apps.

    • +1

Battery life is very good, lasts for 2 days on one charge.

    • +1

S24 had Exynos chip and some say it was inferior to Snapdragon chips.
So S25 is potentially better in that sense.

The even numbers models might be 'bigger' upgrades.
Eg. S25 was mediocre upgrade. Potentially S26 (pro) will replace it. Fingers crossed S26 is not using Exynos.
My assumption seems similar with Pixel 9 to Pixel 10…so maybe odd numbers models for Google.
With Apple, iPhone 14 and 16 was mediocre. So maybe odd numbers for Apple.

  • I have bought S25 from Samsung education store about 10 days back at same offer price but no free case. Can I request them to send a free case now under price promise warranty.

  • It's seems you can outright s25 256GB for $680: "Trade-in s23" : pay Samsung $350, pay Ausurion $330 but won't sending "s23" just block any future changes from Ausurion on your card or PayPal account.

    • How fo you block any future changes from Ausurion on your card or PayPal account. And did you factor in the late fee that you agree to pay?

    • +1

How about late charge fee. I used to pay $30 for $1 value watch. I have never tried to block the future charge.

  • any way this stacks with commbank yello?

    • Commbank yellow and EPP store are same price and same tradein values

  • I am getting s24 to s25 for $237, worth it ? Also does anyone have any other voucher code suggestions other than the 5% please ?
My s24 runs quite slow especially with banking apps (pretty sure it doesn't have snapdragon). and the fingerprint scanner is a nightmare. never works.

  • Last week I saw a $340 trade in value for s21 256G, but it dropped to $140 at the trade in page. I also confirmed with Asurion on telephone that they only accept a maximum value of $140.
I emailed Samsung support who wouldn't acknowledge any amount without Asurion's assessment.
Can anyone please confirm if the bonus value is actually honoured by Samsung?

    • The bonus value was subtracted from my total at purchase time - Samsung value $425 for s21 ultra 256gb. Asurion only put security hold of $225 which is the “normal” trade value.
So in short yes, Samsung honours it at time of purchase, Asurion only keeps the hold until they receive the device.

      • Good to know! Thanks.

      • Want to know whether they will charge late fee. I used to pay $30 for $1 value item and didn't send. If I take this deal, the late fee charge will be $60 I guess

  • Does anyone know if they still accept galaxy s7 as a trade in?

My galaxy s23 ultra screen just cracked by itself whilst in my pocket with an otterbox screen protector and defender case on. Nothing else was in my pocket. Ive been quote $500 to replace the screen. Not sure whether i shoyld just consider a new phone at this point. I do love my galaxy s23 ultra though

    • Looks like S8 is the oldest

      • Bummer!

      • How do you see the s8? I can only see the s20 as minimum for galaxy range on their website.
I also cant seem to see if they accept motorola. It seems they don't?

        • Maybe they confused it with the S8 tablet?

          • @AmperSand: Funnily enough, I checked myself for an old S10e trade-in about a week 'n a half ago and it showed up in the list and with a high value too (just over 200, must've included the bonus).

But ever since that one night I saw it, the list of samsung devices has been trimmed to only VERY recent phones.

I suspect they might've disabled all of the older phones from being eligible :(

  • just wanted to say that samsung's trade ins are notorious for not accepting phone with near perfect condition. If it has a tiny little scratch, barely visible to the eye, they will still reject it. Imo complete waste of time. Sus out reddit for people's experiences with it

    • Simply trade in and don't send the phone. You can always sell it for more on FB marketplace. Asurion will just charge you additional device non-refurn fee of $30-60 depending on trafe in value of your device. So many OZBs have been doing this and never had any issue.

    • I just got a response saying "back cover lifting off" they sent a picture of it with one corner slightly lifted up. It wasn't like that when I sent it, but even if it was don't they kind of have to take the back case off it anyway to pull for parts or refurbish? Dumbest crap ever.

      • I had the EXACT same experience! WTF, my phone was in mind condition. This appears to be a scam !?

The picture is also little bit cropped also to hide what I suspect is a prying tool wedged between.

        • Yeah it was NOT sticking up like in the picture when I sent it at all.
Only way it would be is if they wedged something in there to get the picture. Very dishonest stuff. I wish I took some pics of it at the post office before sending, will remember to if I ever use their shitty service again.

          • @AmperSand: Had the phone returned and its NOT lifting, they had jammed something in-between. I can actually see the scuffs from whatever they jammed in to make it appear like it has a swollen battery, have escalated with Samsung directly.

At this stage I don't care about the refund, it's about sending a message!

            • @wog_ta: They actually said my sim slot had a problem too. It was opened ONCE ever when i got it,and ONCE when I removed the sim card and it was fine. It seems like they may have opened it up, inserted the simcard holder and then tried to close the back case.
I should have just contested it. Wish I took pics before sending, I thought to do it, and figured I've never had a problem with returns with Samsung. What a joke.

  • Weirdly I couldn't seem to get a discount code through chat. This is the response I got: Just to inform you that as of the moment we don't have an available voucher code for Mobile Phone but nothing to worry here once we have an available one, we will send this to your email right away.

  • Note that I got a new s25+, found out no function Esim transfer. Could not transfer some esims from old phone.

    • Yeah I'd want that as a security feature to prevent esim duplication. Seems like a feature not a problem?
Esim transfer should be handled by the carrier not the phone?

      • Yeah , some carrier allowed that feature on their end, but I have a bunch of Roamless Esim and overseas Esim too, most can not transfer.😭

    • Its a feature that needs to be offered by the carrier and not the phone.

  • Assuming the trade in value increases are just a $200 bonus? Would that mean not sending the phone would only get charged the initial value and not including the $200 plus non return fee?

    • Thats not correct. Seems Samsung and Asurion now plugged this loophole and instead of offering bonus credit on top of trade in value, they have increased the trade in value. So of you don’t send the device, you will be charged the trade in value (i.e. the increased trade in value)

      • Yeah I'm curious about that too. Asurion only charged the $105 instead of the $305 so I do wonder if the loophole will work.

        • If they charged only $105, that means they will only charge you $105 if you don’t send the device. Which device did u trade in to get bonus trade in?

          • @OZBsince2018: Galaxy S21. I figured it might work out for me. It did give me the full $305 discount with Samsung so looks like it is a bonus $200.
