11 years and an L plater wow

  • +8

Soo $1656 over 24 months - you virtually just pay in 24 monthly payments with a free sim - not too bad tbh

    • +2

JB Hifi deal makes more sense for me: $350 gift card plus $350 trade in bonus = $700 saving.
      Amaysim $20/month plan = $480.
Note that I have a 1TB in my data bank.

      • Yes, but you're forced to buy something at JB to use the gift card value and the Google trade in value for the devices suck

      • +2

Most JB Hifi stores are not stacking trade in bonus with Telstra plan deal.

  • +3

What is the early termination fee?

    • This offer is not available with any other offers, unless specified. Min total cost is $2833 including device and Plan over 36 months. Cancellation fees apply. Customers who cancel this plan within 120 days of activation will need to pay back the base value of the Harvey Norman gift card or the value of the device discount they received. Plus, if you cancel your plan, you’ll also have to pay any remaining payments for your device in full if you have chosen a repayment option, plus all charges incurred up until the date of cancellation.

I wonder what the optus cancellation fee would be?

Im curious about the cost if you cancel at day 1 vs day 121.

      • +7

        That isn't this deal.

        • +1

Yep, you're right. Different hardly normal promo.

      • +2

The T&C 's have not been updated on the website for this deal

    • +1

      Maximum cancellation fee $1328.

    • Optus/HN etc is 50% of remaining monthly payments

Edit - worth pointing out you need to stay 4 months or there's some extra charge.

  • $69 x 4 months = $276 for first 120 days

    $69/2 = $34.5 x 20 remaining months = $690 for cancellation

    $276 + $690 = $966 total cost for phone and 4 months of service

    Is that correct

    • Where do these figures come from
If accurate might do it and flog my p7pro for 400 on gumtree

      • The maximum cancellation fee is described in the table at the start of this summary and will reduce each month of your contract term. Your cancellation fee will be half of your minimum monthly charge (excluding any applicable device charges) x months remaining in your minimum term

      • 24 month t&c for Havey Norman Optus plan

    • If this is accurate, I'd jump on it.

      • +1

        its accurate

    • Thats exactly right. Though unless you need to be on Telstra or have some other deal or special requirements, if you're not paying less than $34.50 a month for your regular plan it's also quite good value just sticking around on the Optus plan.

    • So this is accurate?

  • Where are the 1tb deals? ☹️

    • Just pay the storage price difference

      • Not sure I follow, looking at all the pixel 10 deals no 1tb have been available for selection

        • In the past when I got the 8 Pro, it was for the 128 for $0, paid 100 for 256

I imagine it would be similar, just pay the difference

          • @zb c: Yes there seems to be an option to pay the difference for xl as well.

With HN deals as long as you're upgrading within the same product line you can usually just pay the retail price difference upfront and get the better phone.

  • Is there any deal on the fold?

    • Assuming from other commenters with upgrading to the XL for just $299 extra, it seems like the deal might be compatible with any Pro series Pixel and just have to pay the difference of the RRP of the Pro phone and 10 Pro 128GB RRP of $1699.

Should be $1k extra, tho not really considered a “deal” + Pro Fold is generally excluded from most deals. Maybe closer to launch it’ll get better?

      • Nah I called today and it's not included.. you can only do the $69 plan and use the $500 credit to put towards the phone

        • Ended up getting the 10 pro (non xl) 256gb for an extra $150

  • Here we goooooooooo!

Hoping we can pay to upgrade to xl?

Edit - checked linked post. $299 to upgrade to pro xl. I'm in!

    • Is it confirmed? Pro xl with $299 upgrade ?

      • Yes, I did it this morning.

  • Hmm tempting! Wonder what Optus' quality is like in Melbourne these days. Been on Telstra for the last 2 years.

    • not that bad, compared to how it was previously. but still not top notch.

internet speed is mostly 4g, in inner east suburbs.

  • Man just did the JB deal last night, probably would have done this one instead with the lower monthly.

  • Anyone know if you get the bonus $350 HN gift card as well?

    • +1

I did ask and sadly not included

  • Just done. $299 upfront for Xl (which also includes storage bump from 128 to 256).

    Standard Optus $69 X 24 months.

    • +1

Do you know what the cost is to upgrade to the XL 512GB? Also I thought the XL had to be 36 months not 24?

      • It seems this deal it's 24mth for anything in the "pro" range. Upfront cost is just the rrp difference between 128gb pro and whatever version you like.

    • Do you mind sharing, is the phone invoiced as $0 or the full rrp, with a gift card bringing it down to $0?

      • Just shows the $299 I paid for the xl.

So not very claimable sorry :'(

        • No worries, thanks for letting me know!

  • +1

The flyer says 24 months, the T&C's says 36 months.

    • Good pickup. Did anyone do this yet and can confirm contract period? @professional

      • T&Cs on the webpage are for the previous preorder offers. Pic in OP has blurry fine print of the current deal. Doesn't seem to be anywhere online.

I checked after signup and I'm definitely on 24m not 36m.

        • Definitely 24 month plan.
This was the T&C's provided for the plan on sign up.

          Cancel within 4 months = $1328 fee
Cancel after 4 months = $690 fee (plus plan payments up to then)

    • Pro 128gb are $0 on 24 months
      Pro XL 256 $299 on 24 months or $0 on 36 months

  • Turns out not all HN can do the deal, Bundall store can't do any Optus deals. Got it in another store, though took considerable time as they didn't know about it.

  • +1

Confirmed this works at the Chadstone store today (24 month plan). The sales rep took me through it all and was very reasonable as he could tell I was just trying to get a good price on a Pixel 10 Pro. Paid $150 to upgrade to the 256GB version. Will cancel in 4 months and 1 day to get the $966 price. Seems to be the best deal at the moment.

    • +1

      $1849 (rrp) - $150 (paid upfront) = $1699
      $1699 / 24 = $70.80
      $70.80 x 20 (months remaining on cancel) = $1416

      $69 x 4 (months on plan) = $276
      $1416 + $276 = $1692

      Oh and there's a $690 cancellation fee..?

Where did you get $966 from?

      • +2

Or do you not pay out the handset on cancellation, in which case it's…

        $690 cancellation fee
$276 for 4 months of plan
        = $966

        Ahhh…
@HardlyNormal do you not pay out the remaining value of the phone on cancellation? Thanks

        • +1

You don't pay out the phone.

The phone isn't attached to the plan - it's a SIM only plan.

          • +1

            @BW296: ^^^
but remember don’t bother cancelling if you pay more than $28/m for phone bill

            • @HardlyNormal: Sorry, what's the maths behind this? Shouldn't it be "don't bother cancelling if you pay more than $34.50/m"?

          • @BW296: A key point that I missed. Thank you.

  • I am looking at grabbing the Pro XL, but didn't like the sound of the 36 month plan, but seeing as I can get the 24m plan, I may do it.
I ported my daughters number for the Pro 8 deal 2 years ago and was wondering if I can port out and get this deal straight away. I did not cancel the plan and she has been using it for the last 2 years almost.

Also just to confirm if I went the Pro XL 256GB I would be up for the following if I cancel it after 4 months:-
    Upgrade to Pro XL:- $299
    Early Exit Fee:- $690
    4 Months @ $69 = $252
    Total:- $1241

    • That's correct on the maths.

Afaik for these you don't have to be out for 30 days like the JB stuff. So just port out and then go see them in store.

I did the same p8p 2 years ago, but did port out a bit over a month ago in anticipation of new deals on the p10xl :-)

      • Cheers. I have a spare number but will try and port her number out and go in this morning and grab one.

        • I was with Optus and ported out using Aldi $5 Sim yesterday morning (port to Aldi took 20 minutes) and signed up to this plan in the afternoon. No issues.

    • Below is correct calculation:

      Upgrade to Pro XL:- $299
      Early Exit Fee:- $690
      4 Months @ $69 = $276
      Total:- $1,265

Plus you can get 10% of the phone price back in GC only today (31st August)

  • +5

    10% GIFT CARD THIS WEEKEND
    STACKS WITH THIS OFFER
If you do Optus, the gift card value is based off the outright price of the phone
so 10P will get you extra $169.9 gift card, 1 month expire

    • Damn I signed up last night

Any chance I would be able to get the 10% gift card if I go back in ?

      • Bugger. I signed up yesterday also.

Might give the store a buzz today.

        • DM’d both of you

          • @HardlyNormal: Could you please DM me as well, I signed up yesterday

          • @HardlyNormal: Can you share the info, called the store and just got told Optus is excluded. However I don't think they know what they are doing given the issues they had even selling me the deal yesterday.

            • +1

@Pobman: We have comms from head office specifically stating that the 10% gift card stacks with optus, ask to speak to their proprietor they should know

              • @HardlyNormal: I'll drive down and see them in person then..

              • @HardlyNormal: I signed up for this today and specifically asked if it was included. I was told because it was only "$299" I wasn't as it needed to be over $500.
I will go back tomorrow and ask if they can supply the bonus if it does stack.

              • @HardlyNormal: Just got told in person Optus not included. Harvey Norman City West.

                • @Tauroka: I just picked mine up from JB springvale.
                  Gift card provided no issues.

                  • @Duece1995: ???
I didn't know JB also offered $0 device on the $69/month Optus plan???

                • +1

@Tauroka: Called around - varying responses.

Completely different attitude from Venkey at the Malaga store "Of course, no problem".
When in, promptly served, paperwork done by Pranam who was clear on explaining inclusions, exclusions and commitments.
                  Wrapped up by Venkey.

I've never had an experience this positive at a Harvey Norman before. Recommend Venkey & Pranam at Malaga store if you're in the West.

          • @HardlyNormal: Hi I went in yesterday and picked up the pixel 10 pro 256gb and didn't get the voucher :(

            • +1

@maverickjohn: ask the store or a manager if they can honour it, they should be able to

              • @HardlyNormal: They did thank you .. they had no idea it was included. :) I told them a friend made the purchase and informed me

    • Signed up on Friday… Darn!

    • Hey do you know if this is available at all stores? If not what about Hornsby or Gordon? Cheers

      • +1

        all stores

    • For real? I signed up yesterday too. See my post above… I'll head back into the store today.

      • +1

Just ask the store if they can honour it

    • Which gift cards are you referring to?

    • Tempted but 1 month expiry is too soon

    • I went in today to do the deal and asked. They said Optus plans do not count

  • Also signed up yesterday. Would like to know if it's possible to get the gift card back?

    • Just ask the store if they can honour it, they should be able to

      • Went back to their 'Flagship' store and they refused to honour. Very disappointed.

  • +2

Went back to the store where I purchased yesterday. I got the bonus 10% gift card no problem. Said "technically not able to but it's fine, happy to do it" - something along those lines…

    No push back at all.

    • Which store mate ?

      • Melb, QV

  • My problem is what to buy with the $200 gift card. LOL. Thanks HardlyNormal.

  • Went in person to the store I bought from, same guy as yesterday there, no problem doing the gift card.

  • Stupid question time…..so for $150 upfront I can get the 256 Pro for $1656 total ($69 X 24)? Essentially a 'free' phone plan for 24 months?

    • +1

      pretty much, $1656 + $150
