Whats the difference
more pure protein .. easier to digest .. lower lactose .. but mega expensive .. I buy the unflavoured HWPI on ebay about $85 for 1kg!
You would expect more protein for 85 bucks a kilo..
@DaTa: Yea, expensive for sure .. but the digestion is much better so worth it for me .. thanks for the negs everyone. Just trying to help.
Just easier to digest as its pre-digested, the protein content will be the same. WPI barely contains any lactose. If you can tolerate normal WPI, there is no advantage paying the extra. $36 vs $85 a kilo is insane. Almost 2.5 times more expensive.
@John Doh: yep agree, too expensive, but HWPI is so nice to digest .. maybe I should try again with WPI.
I'd recommend making sure you can handle how insanely bad it tastes :-)
At least the stuff from myopure back in the day was intense.
I love the unflavoured HWPI .. tastes like baby milk powder :)
Anyone able to comment on the taste? Reviews don't look great.
Deal seems to be back in stock btw, now auto-applies at cart without code.
Depends on the flavour its pretty hit and miss.
Personal fan of strawberry and Cookies&cream
Didnt like salted caramel
I usually buy 5kg at a time. They show up in 5x 1kg bags.
Wow the reviews are quite bad. Comments on how flavoured is less protein contents than advertised on the listing (which is for unflavoured), and variability in how it tastes between batches. Someone got a product that was about to expire in 5 months. Does not inspire a lot of confidence.
Got 5kg from the last deal. Unflavoured, expiry is December 2026 so no issues there. Tastes like any other WPI.
The reviewers appear to be confusing protein powder with a molecular gastronomy degustation. Mix it up, down the lot, get on with it and stop whining that it doesn't taste confectionery.
Those weirdos who want their edible stuff to taste good, I know.
I think the bad reviews is because they don't display the nutrition content for the flavoured WPI. I mean if I buy something, I'd also like to know what I'm getting. Fair point tbh.
I compared this to Amino Z WPI. This actually makes my stomach upset and gassy. It says WPI but I think it has quite a bit of lactose in it. I've bought 5 kg from MyProtein and still trying to drink it slowly by mixing 2 KG from amino and 1 of these. If you are easy with the upset stomach, I recommend not to buy this.
I have used WPI unflavored from both companies and this does not make me gassy. So its not the lactose. Maybe some other additives or the whey itself.
I'd recommend hydrolyzed whey protein isolate
