HP Victus 15.6" FHD 144Hz Gaming Laptop i5-13420h 16GB/512GB RTX4050 $999.20 Delivered @ HP eBay

510
HPAU20

Cheapest RTX 4050 deal I can find right now.
Bought one for a friend.

The 3050 variant is available for $799.20, but from quick search 4050 has like +50% or more effective speed and frame generation support so it's definitely worth the extra 20% price increase.

Some things to be aware of:

  • It doesn't have advanced optimus unlike some of the Lenovo LOQs (but they are $400-500 more right now). But has MUX switch in HP Omen HUB afaik.
If I could get a LOQ (non essential variant) with advanced optimus at this price then I'd buy that instead.

  • The trackpad feels like pressing down plastic & the full size backlit keyboard is not the best (or maybe I'm just not used to laptop keyboard aligned towards the left because of numpad) but shouldn't be an issue for most people planning to use external keyboard and mouse.

  • Display specs are: 39.6 cm (15.6") diagonal, FHD (1920 x 1080), 144 Hz, IPS, micro-edge, anti-glare, 300 nits, 62.5% sRGB. 300 nits is pretty decent at this price, It's not 100% sRGB if you care about color accuracy for productivity work. You likely won't notice any issues for gaming.

  • USB-C port doesnt seem to support power delivery if you care about that. Should be a non-issue for most people planning to use this device for gaming with the actual power adaptor.

  • Single NVMe slot if you're planning to upgrade SSD

The 3050 variant is available for ₹799.20

That's 2025 deal of the year

      Do we need vpn

        • You have put ₹ instead of $?

    • I see what you did there… Fixed the typo.

    • 3050 is dogshit

Apparently you can get 4060 laptops at this price so I’m hodling out for that 😂

    • +7

      You forget to tag someone

    • I've only ever found a 3060 HP Omen on EBay at this price, and that was clearance of only few units and was sold out in few hours.

Maybe if you can find such a clearance deal in time/ combine Black Friday/Boxing Day clearance price with multiple cashback offers you might get one.

Nvidia won't allow selling a lot of those 4060 8GBs at this price otherwise noone will buy the new 5050 8GB units currently priced at ~$2000

    • +2

It's true, you just need cashback + coupons + sacrifice + witness protection.

For example here's a link to a non related 5k laptop, but you get the idea xx

  • +3

Worked on a couple of these, the screens suck but If you ain't picky with that kind of thing they're fantastic

  • Is a RTX 4050 better than a 3070ti?

    • no

    • At the rate it's going it'll be closer in performance to an iGPU.

But no, laptop GPUs are not comparable to desktop GPU, since you mention 'Ti' I assume you are comparing to that.

Relatively speaking 4050 is like a 3050 like for like laptop version with thermal cap. Note that a 4050 laptop GPU is also not same as 4050 desktop GPU.

      Check userbenchmarks

      • There is laptop 3070 Ti

        • And that is what I am asking about. My laptop 3070ti vs this RTX 4050

    • No. It's slightly better than RTX 3060 with same amount of VRAM.
RTX 3070 & 3070 Ti 8gb VRAM they seem to be 15-20% faster than this.

Brother you leave this comment on every laptop deal. I've seen your arguments about the past prices. Unless you get 4080 for under $1000 you won't consider anything a good deal lmao. You're living in pre-covid pre-inflation era, come back to the current timeline. A deal is price relative to what you can actually get now, not what you could get in the past.

Imagine sharing links to 2050 and 4GB variant of 3050 and trying to compare it with this 6GB 4050.
Shows you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

Do you know how old those things are?
With your logic yes you can get a 4050 on that price in the year 2027-2028! 4-5 years after 4050 is released.
This deal is if you want to get it in the year 2025 while it is still a somewhat decent choice for budget gaming.

@tjoy: Sigh… Way to ignore my first link which shows this spec for $880. Typical to fit a narrative. My point is that there is a stable trend of prices and that $1000 for an RTX 4050 just isn't it. Funny how you talk about years when the RTX 4050 has gone $880 on OzBargain in just a few years and not your 2027-2028. Maybe pause a bit and reflect on what I'm saying.

@marshmall0w2: I called out how dumb your logic is based on the things you yourself wrote. Which clearly shows your understanding on the matter .

Yes there was a deal for $880, you could have just wrote that? Which would be useful for some people who can wait. Why are you arguing with the rest of that dumb logic pointing to $600 4GB 3050 and trying to mislead people?

$880 deal doesn't exist right now, I clearly wrote best deal I can find "right now". Hope you understand that not everyone can't wait forever for the absolute best deal "ever".

                  @marshmall0w2: A 4050 for $1000 is a good deal.

                  A 4060 for $1000 is a great deal.

A 4060 for $880 is a unicorn of a deal. It may never be that low again.

I would personally wait for a better deal than this if i was buying but wouldnt hold out for that unicorn.

                • +1

                  @marshmall0w2:

There is a stable trend if prices.

Yes you easily can get a xx50 card for $600 4-5 years after it is released.

I don't see what is the point in bringing that up here because this is not a 4-5 year old card and I'm not posting this in 2028. It only looks like you're mislead people to think they can get a newer card for $600 any time now trying to ein an argument.

Neither am I claiming this is the absolute best deal ever. I just said it's the best deal out there right now, which is what this form and posts are for, for people to find current deals for the things are are actually wanting to buy a thing now. They can't buy the thing in past.

We do mark old deals as expired and post better deals that come out in the future, which will be useful for the people buying that thing in future.

                  • @tjoy:

Neither am I claiming this is the absolute best deal ever.

Neither did I claim that you claimed it's the absolute best deal ever bro. I'm just saying it's a bad deal.

                    In fact, I even said

up to you if you want to spend $1000 for an RTX 4050

Even though I'm sure this is an attempt at a joke, it's a silly comparison as people who play a game don't profit from it as a result of others buying or playing it. Unlike corporations, who do profit from people purchasing their products.

    • @hellblade I don't know why you've been downvoted so much sorry. You're just sharing facts that some may want to consider as part of their purchase decision. Personally I found this info is helpful, thanks.

    • BDSM!

You bought one for a friend? Can I be your friend?

    • I can (be your friend), but not buying you a laptop 😂

        • WELL I NEVER LIKED YOU ANYWAY!

          🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

          (in jest)

  • Do you guys know the best deal available for 32GB? I don’t know much amount gaming computers.

    • Depends on your budget. But generally, you can just buy another stick of 16GB ram for the gaming laptop and plop that right in.

  • I bought one of these last week same deal.

I did quite a bit of research on laptops in the $1000 range this was the only laptop that was in that quality / performance range.

Was looking at the msi range and they were better in specs but also $1200-$1500 and apparently low quality build and ran rxtremely hot.

3 things that concern me is possibly not enough ram, some stutters loading, 16:10 screen with the victus panel at the bottom and the hard drive ehich only has 1 nvme so going to need to pull it out and reinstall windows

I suppose with the cost of those upgrades its probably going to closer to $1150+ with more ram and a 1tb prob needs 2TB

I ran some games installed on an rog strix usbc with a 1tb nvme and it ran quite well

Overall very happy with it regardless

    • I have an old (2019) MSI gaming laptop and honestly you made a good choice - It's not bad, per se, but it's put me off buying MSI laptops in the future. The build quality is poor, the screen is average, and the touchpad is tiny. I also probably paid $1800+ for it in 2019.

Their desktop graphics cards are legit though.

    • I opened this up and it's 2 ssd slots with 1 occupied, 2 ram slots with 1x 16GB

so it's not a bad deal at all!

now just hunting for some SSD & ram deal!

      • You sure it has 2 nvme slots? I watched an unboxing that showed only 1, i havent opened it myself but would love to be proven wrong 😀

        • as I said…I opened this up and found 2 slots in it! :)

  • Good price for a 4050

Agreed the 3050 is absolutely shit

    • ☹️ I have a 3050 6GB. I think it's alright. But I bought this 2 years ago. I wouldn't buy a 3050 laptop now unless it was under $600.

  • Get at least rtx 4060 bro.

  • I'm happy with GTX 1050ti
