525 joules of overcurrent and overload protection seem average?
I think you want something closer to 1000 joules?

  • Stick a travel adapter to it and it’s perfect for travel..well cord probably bit too long

    • That's actually a good thing. Some hotels leave their points in odd corners of the room. Having the extra length allows you to use your device where you want.

Personally for travel use, I prefer a IEC C14 plug so that I can easily get a cheap and easily accessible IEC cable.

    • Unless you’re travelling with multiple appliances that aren’t powered by USB (why?), you’d be better off getting a USB power hub imo. Much more compact.

  • Prob stupid q. Do you really need one if you're in Sydney? Almost everything I plug into my Kmart power board ignites

These were useful in old days, now given the grid is stable I don't think they are much useful. I would spend this money to buy an individually switched extension.

  • Wish it had individual switches

  • '525 joules' is very low……

Cheaper at mwave + price match/beat at jb/ow

Why not get the Kmart surge protect power board that’s for $15

Different boards have different levels of surge protection. I can’t find the rating on that one, but even the one in the OP is relatively low.

No one is going to mention the CyberPower surge protector?

No it doesn't have USB C.

Currently $24, Yes it has a decent amount of surge protection 2750 Joules

    • Post it as a deal…

    • It's also black and 8 port which some may like. But in my case I just need 4 port and white.
I would much prefer a smaller unit.
