Chicken Burger Patty

I usually buy these Woolworths Crumbed Chicken Burgers 440g patties for the kids lunch box.

I was wondering if there’s a better option available (no bulk buy—just a 4–6 pack is fine) that would work well for quick lunch box prep in the mornings?

Thanks

    for the kids lunch box.

    These are 51% chicken and 49% non-chicken.

    • So mainly chicken then?

      • 2% of the chickens identify as turkeys…

  • How about chicken drumsticks?

Don't feed your kids those. Even though they're admitting to them containing 51% chicken, that could be any part of any chicken. It isn't necessarily 50grams of chicken breast/thigh meat as you know it?

Furthermore, you're paying $15 a kg for that muck.

    That's $15 a kilo for water
$15 a kilo for bread crumbs
$15 a kilo for all the other crap in them too

    And

$15 for the chicken you actually want to feed them.

Chicken breast should only be about $12 most weeks.

Slice each breast into half lengthways - or cut into nuggets or sticks

Flatten them to about 1cm thick

    Dust with flour

Coat in egg mix (1:1 egg:milk or water if cost cutting)

Coat in seasoned breadcrumbs or even panko

    Air fry/shallow fry

    And Bob's your uncle!

At last twice as much bang for your buck and a lot more healthy!

Fo a few kg at once, freeze in airtight individual portion sizes (sandwich bag will be fine) and you'll be good to go for weeks!
