I bought this on release. Even after firmware updates, I was massively underwhelmed. Ended up returning it.

I’ve heard this a lot. Lesson here is this monitor is fantastic if you’ve never experienced a glossy oled. If so you may be disappointed as this isn’t as vibrant.

      • Exactly what I'm worried about; waiting for the bendable version which I'd assume would use the same panel and coating coming from the AW3423WDF.

        • Pretty sure it’s the same WOLED as the non bendable, unfortunately. Time will tell for sure.

          • @jalalii: Yea, imagine if they could get the new tandem OLED and ASUS' true black glossy screen onto the bendable, be end game for me haha.

      • Wish I could see it in person, I'm on a Samsung Neo G9 49" and the HDR really pops but would love the extra vertical real estate. We might have to wait for a refresh with Tandem OLED hopefully next year.

      what went wrong?

    • Interesting. Any other recs? I heard the PPI isn't great. I think 39-45 is my range but there is quite a few models and brands to pick from.

Will be dual purpose for work and gaming

      • it won't be its not real 5k take a LG ultrafine 5k display it has 218 PPI 27 inch 5k monitor at 5120x2880 res I have yet to see a OLED display with true 5k res

      • I’ve gone through this monitor, and was a nice one that used to feel surreal looking at it every now and then for most games. But for work, I found this to have stumped my productivity. I think the perfect arrangement for game/work is a 32” center screen and 24” vertical screens. That way you’re set if you’re gaming and way more screen space for work.

Trying to help OP. He's buying a very cheap monitor.

    • The real bargain right here.

  • can't u get a 57" for similar price? what makes this one so special?

Can’t afford a 5090 to drive it properly into the future…

    • If you play AAA games that aren’t as graphically demanding, this is absolutely worth it.
And the best part about high-res displays is clean scaling.

I tried to get a price match on the LG store to then stack a 15% code, but they dont price match.

  • Is there a 34" version of this thats 4K or 5K with OLED 240 Hz ?

    • Don't think that exists yet, only 34" that's 5K I've found is this LG monitor, was close to buying since I wanted a smaller size (I have this 45" OP posted). But turns out it was 60hz

  • Probably get a price match with this one - https://factoryplus.com.au/products/lg-45gx950a-ultragear-45…

    • Haha if they didn't make the term 'factory seconds' so bloody obvious!

  • I got this on the pre-order … i absolutely love it! Has some quirks with the screen cleaning process where you sometime have to wait 30secs for it wake up, but looks glorious for movies and games. Although bear in mind i was upgrading from a 10yr old 2560x1080 34"UW LCD.

Without stating the obvious, theres more discount headroom in these. Picked one up last week for $2300 from one of the big retailers. I'll admit that it was thanks staff pricing but just shows how much profit is baked into these.

    • Yo - got a link man!? Im ready to cop

      • Sorry i dont, the link/invoice was a one time use. Stay strong, if i hadnt of had this chance id be in the same boat and holding out for a bigger drop. I think they should come down to the original pre order price soon (no basis for that comment, just assuming).
Also unsure why i was negged, this isnt a brag, just stating there is a lot of fat in the price that is still yet to be trimmed.

        • Sorry - I meant what store?

I agree that price around what you paid is the benchmark, a few pre orders were had for close to 2k.

          • @dan615: JB, i was going to DM you but I couldnt.
