Citizen CA4674-58X Eco-Drive 43mm Chronograph $499 ($474 w/ Signup Bonus) Delivered @ Watch Depot

Here's a nice alternative to the Seiko Speedtimer at a slightly cheaper price. The only trade-off is size as it clocks in at 43mm in diameter. Otherwise, it has very similar specs, and with Eco-Drive the charging cells are less noticeable than on any other solar powered watch.

  • Starbuy have similar pricing on Black & White but the Green is $76 more. Wonder if Deepak will match or beat?

  • …it clocks in at…

    Hehe nice

  • I still can't get over the pointless 24 hour subdial on the right of the Speedtimer and this. It's clutter for no benefit. Other than that, good product.

    • Yeah it looks more like an automatic with 3 sub dials but those are $$$. Besides telling you AM-PM, I agree it fills up the dial to achieve a look.

Personally I don't mind the symmetry of two sub dials when done right (eg. Hamilton Intramatic American Classic, and the Baltany military chrono I have).

Ps. I much prefer the Seiko, better sizes (~39 or 41mm), proportions look better, solar is more reliable than eco-drive and better resale, just have to wait till they are $595 or something again.

      • solar is more reliable than eco-drive

        Tosh. Eco-drive is also solar.

Kindly provide a source for your assertion.

        • Yes but I assume they aren't exactly the same.

I've got plenty of both, the eco-drives do the two second tick (indicating low battery) or stop all together, whereas the Seikos never do.

Not sure why but it is, just some real world observations. Just need to ensure they get some good sun, not always possible but doable. Pointless having too many I've decided.

          • @G-rig: Unlucky.
Of our six Eco-drives, zero failures!

            • @Speckled Jim: Not failures, just need more sun (and more than Seikos)!

  • not quite the same as Jimothy's Panda, though).

i agree - the ssc813p is a thing of beauty

    • Dude! NSFW warning!

    • +1

Allegedly @Jimothy Wongingtons shared a pic of his watch, but for the life of me I can't seem to see it…
