  • Does this look any good on the switch 2 though?

    • -3

Nothing does, no switch 1 games without switch 2 patch looks good because of displaying 720p content on a 1080p screen, which results in scaled-up content with less detail and lots of blur, especially in small text.

      • +1

100% agree, I played persona 5 on my switch 2 and the text is so blurry in the environments, really detracted from the whole thing

        • -1

Make sure you have the HDR set to only be on for compatible games

not true at all, it varies on the game, I've definitely played unpatched Switch 1 games on my Switch 2 and it's been perfectly acceptable - it obviously isn't a blanket thing and some things certainly do look bad, but saying "nothing does" is just wrong

        • Its a fact, content made for 720p,does not scale well to 1080p.

          A mathematical fact.

          1080/720 = 1.5

Can't scale up 1 pixel to light up 1 and 1/2 pixel.

If it was 1440p, it would be fine.

Or if the games run in Switch 1"docked mode" on Switch 2 handheld.

          • @jerjergege: In the case of the latter, Hyrule Warriors fits that - handheld was weirdly at 1080p on OG Switch so it nicely makes the transition over to Switch 2, with better performance as well.

      • wondering when i see those patches - they are not bringing any new contents, right? also if i install that to switch 1, i will see absolutely nothing new/different, correct?

      • Thats just in handheld, we don't know how it looks on a TV on the Switch 2, many games look and feel better,

        • That's true, because docked, the games run in 1080p, which scales nicely to 4k, 2160 / 1080 = 2.

      • The fact Nintendo - knowing they were launching the weakest 'current gen' console by a long margin - didn't find some kind of AI upscaling deal to make (similar to the PS5 'upscale PS4' setting) is astonishingly dumb - even for the company we're referring to.

Nintendo customers are the group that cares least about graphical quality, but that PS4 to PS5 upscaling tech is stunning purely because of its capacity to sharpen the GUI.

If the Switch 2 had launched with something similar that just tightened up the 'Nintendo fuzz' they'd have been golden.

There's a demo available if you want to check exactly how bad it looks.

Fun game even if the fighting is not that dynamic. Made me feel alive like I was 10 again.

  • +2

I think this is a price error. 86% off the $24.95 sale price instead of the $79.95 regular price.

Does anyone know if they usually honour these or?

    • +1

      yup, already bought and downloaded.

  • -1

Arr bummer, sold my Nintendo switch and now i can't purchase this without the console.

    • +1

a reason to buy another one? XD

    • +2

You should still be able to purchase it on the webstore no?

      • +2

Yeah that’s what I did. Thanks OP - ripping deal!

  • +2

Woah, that's an amazing price. Just to clarify: this is the FULL base game plus a DLC.

  • +1

This game is decent, I got it for like $20-25. At $3.5 it's awesome value

  • wow sadly I already got it when this was $11 few months back

  • 25GB space requirement. Wow.

I watched parts of this as a kid before school and got the gist of several parts of the story.

I always wanted to watch the WHOLE Dragonball Z series but it would take way too much time these days.

I bought this game on the PS5 (complete), got the story and had a blast playing it! Can't recommend it enough!

I'll be getting this for Switch as well, many thanks OP!
